The next OFFICIAL THN Meet @ i35!!!!

That's right folks!

Every year or so we try and organise what we like to call the "THN Meet" - this is a gathering of us forumites in RL somewhere normally for a weekend or so doing something that we all enjoy. Check out here and here for the results of previous THN meetups! (Alternatively, use the Advanced search option to search thread titles for the phrase "THN Meet").

So this year, after the massive success that has been the i34 gaming LAN event, myself and Haven would like to propose that we hold the 2008 THN meet at the i35 Multiplay gaming LAN event, to be held at Stoneleigh Park (near Coventry) from October 31st (yes, Hallowe'en!) until 3rd November.

If you want to see what this LAN is all about, check out the i34 website at http://i34.multiplay.co.uk/.

For i35, here's the website which you can follow for links to book your tickets: http://www.multiplay.co.uk/i35/ (note: i'm writing this still sat on the i34 network and i'm not sure this link works externally yet). From this link you will beable to book your ticket for the i35 event and then go on to choose your set using the seat picker.

If you do book a ticket, register under the clan tag [THN] - this will make it much easier for us to be able to sit together and organise things like tournaments and events for the group of us, rather than individually.

There is a calendar event for this up on the forums already...

You've seen some of the comments that those of us who are here have made during this weekend, and the atmosphere in here was truly awesome last night.

I have a few pictures of various things that went on over the weekend, I also suggest that you check out the i34 forums to see some of the madness that ensued while we were here...

The tickets for this event are £80, but until September 1st if you book you will get 20% off of that price, meaning it's £64! You can then go on to pick a seat and then also choose other services like for instance EAS...

I won't be attending this one as it's just too much on the wallet.

Well you'll love the sleeping arrangements at i35. It's not all about the games. There's quad biking paintballing airsofting 4x4 driving. Inflatable funomatic outside things. Not to mention the bar and all the free stuff.

Also plenty of ppl play MMOPURGERS at i-series events so if you are just a WoW player or if you just want all FPS players to take a leap then that is fine Wizzo the Main uber mpuk overlord is a big eve fan for example. Lot's of ppl play WoW there. You could get some raids going or whatever have a some kinda en mass gank somewhere or maybe just get pissed and yell at the css smelly barstewards.

We seem to be getting a growing little gathering which is nice. You'll meet tons of ppl there as well and if you are the techie there's plenty of opportunity to mingle with big companies.

You dont need to participate as a gamer either, book a spectator ticket for the entire weekend, you're still allowed to go and talk/sit with the people that took their machines, but you're not joining in, you can do the other activities and just wander around the exhibit hall

You're missing the point, if I want to go to a LAN party (with extras), there's a few plenty good options here in Sweden. Not that I've been doing it much lately, but I still feel like the thing I do with THN:ers is mostly gaming, so meeting you guys in a different context is what I find interesting with the THN meets. As such, I'll wait until I've there's one like that coming up (or I have the extra money + free time). Hugs and kisses ;)

So what you're suggesting is camping somewhere?

EDIT: Also, for those wondering what the atmosphere when camping is like:

Ahey, :)

I would like to reiterate the offer that you lot find a way to come spend a week in Lisbon, so I can meet you all and show you around town. :)

Cheers,
J.

Shiftee and I are also of the mindset that a meet-up would be fun, but that we'd rather emerge, blinking, into the sunlight and spend a weekend doing non-computer stuff. So no i35 for us, though thanks for organising a meet. Now Lisbon, on the other hand...
