THN Meet Major news.

Just found out a major problem for the bank holiday weekend meet. Nicky phoned up the local perthshire tourist board to find out some information about accomodation and the news wasn't good.

Turns out the weekend we have picked is the same day as this:

International Horse Trials.

which is in the same area as Loch Tay.
From what the woman said on the phone the local camping and accomodation is being pretty much booked out for this. So this could make it really difficult to find anywhere.

Suggest we get together on TS tonight at 7pm to discuss it.

Yeah bodyboarding was the first thought but then Haven and Shadow though Loch tay would be a good idea.....

OK, complete change of plan time then!!

The best places for bodyboarding in the central belt are at Coldingham and Pease Bay, which are on the East coast between Berwick-Upon-Tweed and Dunbar (30/40 miles from Edinburgh). It's an area Haven and I know quite well, and there's a lovely campsite at Barns Ness that's right on the shore about 7 miles from Pease Bay and 15 from Coldingham. I've phoned and they have pitches available, but they seem to be going fast over the Bank Holiday weekend, so we really need to get things booked as soon as possible.

The charges are £5.30 per person per night, and £5.40 per unit per night (which is because we're not Caravan Club Members) (so for 2 people sharing it's £16 a night).

One word of warning is that it is quite isolated, by which I mean that there's not a pub within walking distance, but there is miles of seashore on which to have BBQ's!

I think we should book this as soon as possible – by which I mean tomorrow morning, so I need final numbers (and who will share tent's with who!).

ok just wanted to know if anybody is driving up on friday afternoon ish from anywhere as i can get the train up to newcastle at a decent time or arrive at 10 at night in edinburgh!

i kind of ment if people are driving up to scotland on friday and have a couple of seats free could we get a lift?

im not sure who is going so i dont know who to ask! id be well up for paying for fuel i just wanna see if i can get the travel fare down to under a hunderd quid!
