THN meetings!

No this is not about the THN meet!!

Its a bit early for that!

After a convosation with some of you about the fact that computer games and online friends seem to be taking upall your time (or a fair whack of it) I was intrested to know how many of you guys know each other in real life and/or meet up regualy.

The southern crew (eld, bob, myself, pia, and vibro) all met up the other day for a very amusing weekend! Bambi did make an apperance on his way home too!!

And of course we do the yearly meet which is allways a giggle for those who can get there!

Would be intresting to see how many groups of friends there are on here!

Then maybe I can aid my mission to prove that gaming dose not take over your life and leave you unsociable!

I reckon the meet should be down south this year get all you northern monkeys down to southern pansy land. I know its an effort but i really want to meet ppl and its awesome to put faces to voices. For example who would have thought that Piacular in the flesh is actually a 9 yr old tap dancer called janice with a completely shaved head. Was a complete shocker.
Saying that Bambi looks exactly like he sounds, i know that makes no sense but he really does.

Well, he did on Friday last. When we first met him, well! Let's just say that mini-skirts, boob-tubes, high heels and large amounts of make-up were not what I was expecting! :D

there are no picuters that are suitbale to show! nah!
We did take one with pia and bob in a card board cut out thing but the camera didnt work!!

The meet should be any time in early July, after the GCSE's. That way more people can come and prices should be cheaper. Also, I see Gopha everyday in school, and yes he is that crazy in real life.

hmm ... probably impossible for me to meet anyone of you in my whole life (or maybe only due to a very very strange coincidence) as i suppose you won't spend your THN meeting in germany ;)

I know T-Bone, Killcrazy, Tetsuo, Woman Driver, Social Outcast, Iron fist and Raikiri because we went to school and/or live locally - I was hearing about THN for over a year before I actually joined (I couldn't because at that time I was without an internet connection :( ).

I couldn't make the last meet, but I did meet docbot when he was in Glasgow, and I should be able to make the next meet without any problems, and I look forward to meeting everyone :).

Hmm, I know Haven, Shadow, Cpt.Spazmo, Ellenscult, Duren and Rojaws in a face-to-face way. Only the latter have I spent more than 5 minutes with in the past three months. Come to think of it, practically everyone I've spoken to recently I either work with, was on the phone, or is online.

That said, I'm often happiest online. My online friends are actually a large majority of my friends, period. Many of them I expect I will never meet, being so completely anti-social as I am (in that I usually don't enjoy the "accepted" patterns of social contact).

My problem is that work is taking over, just now. Other times it won't be but, right now, I'm onto 10-14 hour days solid coding. I'd rather be playing. I'd always rather be playing. ;)
