For those of you that have heard of userbars. I think you'll agree they look pretty cool. I only have 2 problems, and they are:

  1. Why can't we have userbars on the forum? It says they are too big..
  2. Why don't we have a THN userbar to show off on other shiny forums. I don't have the baldiest on how to do it, and if anyone knew could the post up?

So no, changing userbars then?

If you can make it really subtle then I think that's fine. Changing every few seconds, though, isn't good. The changing one further up in this thread is too rapid, too obvious, too blinky.

Unfortunately, subtle often equals large (in terms of file size) so that may not work so well. I'm prepared to play with the file size, though, to a certain extent, if you're coming just a bit short and have got something suitably subtle-yet-cool.

So, If I have a delay of 4-5 seconds, would that work?

I was thinking more like subtle fade-throughs. The flick from one to the next is a surprise and draws the eye to that, and that's the problem. I want to choose what I look at, not be distracted by the thing that's changing all the time.
