"Total War" game with no internet connection?

My Dad has just got himself a laptop and wants to play a game from the "total war" series. The pc has windows 7 OS. The crutial bit of information is he has no internet connection and has no intention of getting one either.

My Dad will require the physical copy with the instructions.

I have realised that the total war games generally require activation online before they can be played. I intend to take his laptop to my house so I can install and activate the game online. I then return his PC to him, so he can play single player without internet connection.

Is this possible? Also I would like the game to be compatiable with NO issues with windows 7, so can anyone recommend one of the "total war" games?

Shogun: Total War
Medieval: Total War
Rome: Total War
Medieval II: Total War
Empire: Total War
Napoleon: Total War
Total War: Shogun 2
Total War: Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai
Total War Battles: Shogun

Which title are you referring too? Cracks can be found for almost all of them, though the cracks for the steam ones i am not familiar with since i have never cracked a game i didn't own.

Edit: Didnt fully read your post :P

I recommend medieval 2 total war, without a doubt my favourite total war game. I've played it on the hardest difficulty for over a thousand hours, and i think it is an excellent game, however, i am biased strongly against the ones after M2Tw because i have not had good experiences with the learning curve of empire, and shogun is not as fun as the first shogun, and the coop is too buggy.

I suggest you also update the game to the latest patch version, and also get the latest graphics and other drivers installed while the laptop has an internet connection.

medieval 2 + stainless steel = the best SP total war experience
M2 doesn't require any online for activation if you get a disk copy, and you can get the gold edition of it pretty cheaply online

Have to disagree gents. While I love Medieval 2 to bits, it's all about Rome for me. Medieval 2 just got annoying if you played as any factions that came into contact with the Italian states as you'd just end up facing stacks of Pavise crossbowmen :p

While you said "with no internet connection" the disk versions of most non steamworks total war games require it in the drive, hence needing a crack. I repurchased M2tw on steam last Christmas, because i wasn't using a crack, though the majority of my play time is prior to that.

If you dad has a dvd drive on his laptop, then you cant really go wrong with this. (DVD in drive almost certainly required to play, however getting around this is not complicated, but tbh nor is it necessary really.)

And I am happy to assist with gameplay enquires too.

For example the game (most total war games) has 2 difficulty settings, one for the campaign map and the AI's tactics therein, and a separate one for battlefield difficulty, which has less effect on the AI and more effect on the soldiers, in effect the battlefield difficulty is more of a realism slider, for example moral, explosive effects, flanking, unit effectiveness, and strength/weaknesses in general. I always recommend having the battle difficulty at very hard, though the campaign difficulty can be at anything really, even easy.

I suggest you also update the game to the latest patch version, and also get the latest graphics and other drivers installed while the laptop has an internet connection.

I like how I wasn't the only one to missread the first post.

Note; the gold version needs patching :)
