Trial Raiders?

Whats the rules behind trial raiders? I have read that some raids are not to be attended by them, such as ZA, SSC and TK.

If we could detail which raids are gonna happen on which days it would mean i would be able to help friends in other raids.

Yes, this is an issue that has been troubling me too. I understand, that you can't know beforehand what instance will be raided with 100% certainity, but if I as a trial raider cannot take part in all of the possibilities, it's kind of a long-shot for me to sign up and hope, that I will be accepted into the raid.

Therefore I would like the officer to clear up for me these points:
  • Is there a general guideline what kind of raid will there be on a particular day, and if there is, could this be somehow indicated in the Events thread
  • What raids are to be attended only by Progression Raiders and which are accessible to Trial Raiders as well
  • When do I become a Progression Raider rather than Trial Raider

I thank you all for replying and giving me answers :)

although that may actually be stated somewhere, the last few raids I have been involved in have had their members decided based on the order in which people signed up on the calendar. (note that a date and time is associated with each calendar signup).

For the 25 man raids, this past friday was the first time we have ever been over-subscribed for it, so until this past friday, that wasn't an issue. Unfortunately sunday seems to be a quiet day and as Kara is the normal raid of choice on saturday this leaves ZA as the only available option - When this happens you need to have a certain level of gear such that we do not get owned by the gong at the beginning of it...

They way it stands at present is that trail raiders can and should sign up to friday and sunday raids and will be given a place based on there sign up position.

As sundays most usualy end up as a ZA run, we tend to use proggression as first pick and them take trial raiders seccond. The reason for this si to give the higher members a chance to do something different and get better gear closer to there level. This may seem a bit off if a trial raider is at that stage but we would like to see how you are in 25 man and kara groups first!

So basically sign up every day soon as you can but sundays you may loose your sign up position to a proggression member.

As for what days and when its based on numbers so we never really know till the day!

friday 25 man
saturday kara
sunda za

These are the norm at the moment but could change at any point.

Proggressing from trial raider up takes about 3-4 weekends raiding with us to get a good idea of your playing and your charater as a person. By this time we have a idea of what we think and then when the next officers meeting comes up we use some of the time to disscus each trial raider who has been in for this time and could be promoted.

OK, thanks, Birdy, this clears it up a fair bit. I shall try to adhere to the guidelines you suggested. Also I wish that this is not percieved as my trying to shake off the Trial Raider status or whining about not being accepted into Zul'Aman, as this couldn't be further from the actual truth. I acknowledge the fact, that my gear level is below the optimal starting standarts for ZA and possibly even 25-mans and I realize that Progression Members must be given somewhat higher priority when considering the setup for these higher-up raid instances.

Like I said - cheerio for clearing it up a bit.

On a somewhat related note - I realize, that there might be some conflicts with the 25s or ZAs, but would it not be possible for us Kara-level groups to raid Kara two times a week (with a forced reset)? Under the condition, that we are able of clearing the instance (which we are), it would be a waste not to get 2* the loot and badges.
But my knowledge of how resetting works is very limited, so if there are any flaws in this scheme, please point them out for me.

Over and out,

For some reason (probably because it has so many badges) Kara only gets reset every 7 days on Wednesday, like all other outland instances except for ZA - which gets a reset every 3 days.

Which sucks.

Because we could quite easily run it twice a week i think...

Exactly. My thought was, that it could be forcefully reset using that "Reset all instances" option from the portrait-right-click menu. But I guess this is not how it works.

OK then, my schemes failed. Nevermind. When time comes I will concoct some more.

Unfortunately raid instances are completely different :(

If you go to the WoW website, expand the interactive section on the left and select the calendars->raid calendars option then you can see when all of the raid instances are to be reset.
