I'm eager to try it too. Though BiG D said something a while back which may mean we won't be able to. Or maybe he was just whining? Who knows. :p

We can try it once we can find out what the licensing requirements are.

Currently the site you are required to use to obtain a license file is down:

http://sales.tritoncia.com/ts3_maint.html

I don't yet know if it will cost for a non commercial license or not. If anyone wants to do a little research then info will be appreciated. I tried to take a look but the TS3 site is down also due to traffic.

In the meantime promethius is contributing bandwidth to mirroring the torrent files for the TS clients and servers. The Torrent downloads are stupidly fast right now so go grab them.

The post that their assertion is based upon dates back to 2006. I'm not sure that can really be considered safe for the purposes of decision making.

Ok test server setup and running, details below:

teamspeak3.thehavennet.org.uk (ts3.thehavennet.org.uk works fine also)
Server Password is THN

Other than that its all defaults and besides me connecting to check it was up it is untested. Use this thread for feedback and log in and have a play. It is currently hosted on Nostromo which is on the end of my home ADSL so it will cap out on bandwidth eventually.

Finally there is no license file to be had yet so some features (I have no idea which) may be limited until that is sorted.

For those who cannot download the client:

Standard ports for TS3:

2009-12-20 17:32:59.095379|INFO |FileManager | | listening on 0.0.0.0:30033
2009-12-20 17:32:59.130817|INFO |VirtualServer | 1| listening on 0.0.0.0:9987
2009-12-20 17:32:59.131628|INFO |Query | | listening on 0.0.0.0:10011

9987 is what you should be connecting to by default.

Looks good so far, just need an admin on to allow us to form some persistent channels to really test it. :)

Well users are able to make temp channels, just to make perma channels an Admin would be mega handy here, also in which Accounts... I wanna get me my account!

It's not currently running on promethius (our main server) so at the moment it is just a test... As Haven said above, it's running off his home net connection atm :)

But I'm sure once it's up on promethius then we can start sorting out admins and proper channels and the like

If the setup proves stable there's no reason we cant mgirate the database to the live verison - at this point I've no idea whether it will stay the same format between beta and stable though.
