Some people may have seen bbc's coverage a few months ago about cable firm H2O who are laying fibre cables into the uk's main sewer systems to hook up buisness with a big phat pipe.

Well, it looks like the are finally going to offer a consumer service as well with either
bbc said:
Bournemouth, Northampton or Dundee will be offered the service first

Anyway, tis an interesting article and an interesting company

main problem i have is that the current roll out of fibre doesn't allow you to have a static IP address so yay speed, but boo i lost all my ability to easily host from home without setting up dynamic DNS, hopefully by the time it properly arrives here that'll be fixed but we'll have to wait and see how it goes

I would have thought that once the fibre network is established and the teething troubles are ironed out, then static ips will caome back (not after too long we hope)
