ok i recently decided to reformat my HD but half way through doing so there was a powercut for about half of Bury (if what i'm told is correct) anyways once the power came back on about 3 hours later i decided to try again and i thaught all was well untill i got to the windows logo screen where i got the evil blue screen of death saying i had an UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME so i decided to leave it for the night and take it to my friends the day after and he said he cant do anythin wiv it and that i'm better off buying a new HD so getting to the point finaly i wont be back for quite some time maybe even after the BC comes out not that many if any will care but jus thaught i'd let y'all know

delete your partitions and reformat again - a power cut should not damage the drive at all.

My Dad had a HD damaged as it was reading or writing just as a small blip in the power supply happened. Computer came back on, horrible screeching noise started then suddenly "PLEASE INSERT SYSTEM DISK."

Ouch... Couldn't even put the drive into my computer as a slave. If I did that it couldn't see either of the drives it should!!!

But it should just be a case of re-installing Windows on top of it. Boot from your windows CD and while installing make sure you do a FULL format of the drive. This may take some time, however depending on the size of your hard drive :D (took 2 and a hlaf hours to do a 320GB SATA drive at a friends place!)
