Upcoming Games

Seems that this week is the one to announce all the games for next year... or at least that's what it looks like. Below, a bunch of links to trailers for games that look interesting in one way or another.

  • Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 - doesn't show much, but I'm hopeful for this one based on the first game (which I still haven't completed)
  • True Crime - reminds me of Stranglehold, which may or may not be a good thing
  • Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 - very stylish but doesn't really show you any game
  • Crackdown 2 - agents in flying suits beating people up with car axles, what more could you want?
  • Medal of Honor - the Modern Warfare look-a-like, so much so that I almost had to check that I wasn't watching a CoD trailer
  • Halo: Reach - Bungie really know how to make a good trailer, and I love this one too... hell, I could become a Halo fanboi at this rate (though I haven't actually played Halo 1 or 2 through)
  • Spec Ops: The Line - is it just me or is there something supernatural going on in this trailer?
  • Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands - I hadn't paid any attention to Prince of Persia until the more recent reboot and now I'm keen to see the next one, plus a cool trailer to boot

Seen any others that we should be keeping an eye out for?

Okay, okay, there's obviously Splinter Cell: Conviction but we've know about that for months. Yes, and Mass Effect 2, but same deal. And Dawn of War 2: Chaos Rising. Any others?

Forgetting some big MMOs there, such as Global Agenda and Star Trek Online (even though with recent announcements to the PvP system I shan't now be playing).
I can't say I pay much attention to anything not MMO anymore, they've corrupted my PC gaming :(

Diablo 3 might be worth noting, even though I'm not sure if it's going to be 2010 or 2011. It was 2010 last time I heard.

I'm a bit of a sucker for good trailers. Just released, a short one for Mass Effect 2. Apparently the full trailer is out next week.

Not sure about Diablo 3. I played the first two but I'm not entirely sure that I really enjoyed them. I played for a fair number of hours but I think it was just OCD driving me.

Also missed Starcraft 2, but this whole 3 games business is making me uncomfortable. That said, I suppose Dawn of War 2 was no different.

I'm trying to avoid as much of ME2 as I can. I didn't see a lot of the original's marketting efforts, and I loved it. I'm hoping this will be the same for the 2nd game. We shall see. I have seen the original teaser from like a million years ago, but that's it. Hmmmm, might play ME1 again to get my character up to lvl 60...
