Usergroup Suggestion *Drumroll*

OK...<ahem>...

Cutting to the chase here's what I think. The usergroup system is quite complicated atm. I think a better way of using them should be easy to implement.

I think when people sign up before they can confirm all the details there should be a page saying what games do you play? On this page will be all the usergroups. Also I feel in Big, Bold letters should be something like;

"If you are a member of The Haven guild on WoW make sure, no really, make sure you click the WORLD OF WARCRAFT BUTTON to make sure you get access to the releveant guild forum."

Comments?

Seriously, though, The Bonage is right, as many people have been put off by the forum's usergroup system when we try to encourage WoW guildies to sign up. Improvements which make it easier would be much appreciated.

Well I don't have any experience with this so don't look at me. However, it stands to reason that adding a page (That already exists) to the sign-up page shouldn't be very hard.

I suppose we really need Ronin's take on this as he will know best how hard/easy this will be to implement.

Here's the five minute improvement to the current registration system:

Good enough for now? I don't have much time for much more.

And there he is right on schedule.

That's Awesome!

I think that should hopefully make it much easier. Just went through the process to test and there's no way you can miss that.

Nice!

The basic functionality has been in place for a while but it has had a fairly general wording to it (see the Battlefield and Alien Swarm bits in the registration as samples of the generic). Hopefully, this should draw people's eye a bit more. Unfortunately, I don't think there's a whole lot one can do to help the BB-newbies to whom none of this makes sense and yet still keep our careful subscription-only technique that (still?) underpins some crucial basic theory used in the design of this iteration of THN Games.

Glad it works for you. :)
