Well yesterday I bought Star Wars Battlefront 2, and I had just started playing it when it crashed to desktop without any error message. I tried playing afew more times and the exact same happened. So I reinstalled the game and tried again, didnt help.

I then went onto the internet and found out that the game has not been optimised for dual core processors. Instead the game uses both processors to 100% power and this causes the game to crash. Even now there is no sign of a patch sorting this out yet so I just have to put it on my shelf and wait till one does come out :(

Well that's what you get when you buy something at the cutting edge of technology - bloody fingers. ;)

Me? I'll stick with my single core 3500+ until people like yourself have worked out all the bugs :)

Since when do AMD platforms use DDR2 RAM? In any case, it'll be out of date by mid-year when socket AM2 and DDR2 arrives, along with the 7900 series graphics cards..

Back to the original problem, have you tried installing it on both of your PC's? It could be an issue with just one of them. Who made the game by the way?

Xfi fatality has 64Mb Xram, making complicated sound effects load quicker. Means you don't comprimise performance by 'upping' the soundfx quality.

The problem is the dual core setup I have, the game doesnt work properly and runs the CPU power of both cores at 100% which then causes the game to crash. It works on my other PC because that PC has a single processor.

i still dont know how or when you got the prcessor, and how much was it? AMD right?

Ok its an AMD X2 4200+ dual core processor.

But that has nothing to do with this. The developers of the game didnt think of the fact that some people have dual core processors and would like to play the game. So I dont know why ou want to know where I got it or what make it is. Theres nothing I can do until the developers bring ou a patch allowing the game to be run on a dual core setup.

isnt there like a kindof switch or program which will let u use 1 processor instead of 2 or could u change ur settings on the game or cant you get onto the game?
