Wanted: Game musician

Anyone got experience knocking together music? Be it digital or traditional.

I'm sort of capable but only in simple software like Ejay - not really the original sound I'm looking for since it uses samples used all over the place.

To start with I'm looking for a couple of unique tracks, one for my title screen and one for in-game music, on my first indie game which I'll probably be talking about a lot in future weeks.

Title screen - In terms of "style", something akin to the original tetris or angry birds theme would be nice. The main game theme is pets; namely cats and dogs. So any animal samples that fit into the tune might work well.

In-game music - It's a "thinking" puzzle game rather than skill/twitch, so something ambient, but catchy, would be nice. Accoustics would be awesome. I might even want more than one tune but gauging interest first.

This could be the start of something beautiful. I'm a fair person (honest!), so as reward at the very least you can expect recognition (e.g. in credits), and if the game sells well*, you will of course receive a healthy wad of cash as thanks - as well as potential future employ on some other much bigger things I have up my sleeve.

I'd have to request that the music be available exclusively to this game, on the offchance we end up with the next angry birds (hah yeah right!) we need it to have it's own sound. That means you cannae publish it elsewhere if you are giving me it. If the game flops you can has it back of course.

p.s. the more the merrier, just don't be upset if I don't pick your track.

* Note it'll probably be free, with purchasable content, so can't promise any profits yet.

I wrote a couple of songs when I was at uni' for some of my projects. They're naff but if you're stuck for music you could use them. They remind of the music from Simcity 2000 (that's why I've titled one Maxisesque) that will give you fair idea of how bad they are.
Rock
Bassy
Folk
Maxisesque
Annoying Enemy
The last 2 I used in a group project and the folk testing the game got demented with me after hearing them so often. Remember to program in a mute button early on, even if you get good music.
One other thing, the last track I edited out the intro in the final version but I couldn't find it.

One of the other projects i'll do in the future is an RPG, and I think "Folk" would be good music for at least one of the things I have in mind. So I might use it in future if that's ok? I will check back at the time, of course. :)

Sure, no problem. You might want to check out Newgrounds Audio portal for music as well. That's where a lot of flash artists and programmers get their music, since most of it is free for non-commercial use.
You'll need to contact the artist directly for commercial use and may have a hard time getting exclusive rights to them.
