I've been thinking for a while that we're a bit light in our Moderation Team even with the Admins chipping in (or even just wholesale being Mods). It's led to some longer response times than we'd like as the team has been stretched too thin with real life responsibilities and such.
However, I think we're at the end of that patch now as we can now announce, with great pleasure, that the Moderation Team has expanded to take on three new members.
Everyone, please welcome SwampFae, Zooggy and Iron Fist to the ranks of the Moderators!
(I'd say "congratulate" but I'm not sure that this is that sort of job. )
While we're at it, we've extended the remit of Moderators to have permissions in all forums they can already see, which varies from Mod to Mod but covers all public forums. This is a small change from the existing situation in that previously we allocated Mods to specific forums and that's the only places that their Mod privileges would work. This should make it easier for a small team to respond where they're needed rather than sitting on their hands when they could have helped if only they had the permissions...
Of course, there are still some non-team Moderators, notably for WoW but in other places too, who are still looking after their own areas. The team-based Moderators (i.e. the ones with a global remit) have the Moderator badge with a single orange stripe, which should give that a bit of clarity.
Thank you to all THN Moderators, old and new, team and not, for helping us keep THN clean, calm and respectful and ticking over beautifully! You're all ace.
Now, back to sleep for me...
