What do you use social networking sites for?

Hey folks,

I was looking to get some ideas from you fine folks about the wonder of modern communication that is social networking sites. Goat and I (mainly goat) run a site called ayespace (www.ayespace.co.uk) and were thinking of making some major changes and upgrades.

Now of course there is a strong chance that you will have a myspace, bebo or facebook profile already, but really what we wanted to ask you was what you actually use these sites for? What makes the site useful to you? Conversely, is there something about these sites that is missing, broken or annoying?

Feel free to throw in some random ideas if you have any, even if it's not a feature that's yet incorporated in a site don't shy away from requesting it!

I use bebo for uploading photos, leaving messages for mates and checking out a few local bands.

I use facebook for staying in contact with people I don't normally see.

I like the website. The amount of ads on it annoy me a bit, but I like the feel of it.
