What happened to AV?

Okay so this is the thingy.

During friday night after having a "few" cold ones "And somewhat under the effect of it aswell, I decided at 4 (CET) in the morning (3 U.K. TIME) That I was going to hit AV for a while since I wanted to see how my Mac-Book could handle it.

First of all I thought that my poor little Mac-Book was going to explode in my face and after that jump out the window. Tho I lagged like hell I managed to check the scenery.

The second thought that struck me was "Where the hell am I? - Is this really AV?"

Like I wasn't half past dizzy form the beers already, now I had to check out this new map that I have never seen before!

So question: What and WHEN did this happen to Alterac Valley? Coz I can almost SWEAR on that it wasn't my beers changing the map! :p

It changed with 2.4 I believe, though it may have even been earlier than that (maybe 2.3).

The reinforcements thing and the horde start point got moved right back.

They basically turned it into a grindfest.

I noticed the grind fest, okay it got me some honor points atleast, but still, I miss the "Normal" AV :(

AV is little more than a couple caves filled with AFK'ers botting their way to full Season 1. What's even worse is that the number of AFK'ers appears to be quite larger on Horde side since the patch went online (one would assume the customary QQ associated to the moving of the Horde starting area to ensure both factions would start at the same distance from primary targets is to blame there).

Yesterday, maintaining my standards, I led the KB charts running from one tower to the other to try to defend it (usually alone or with one or two folks with a clue) while we were massacred in every single run due to our complete lack of defense and general unawareness of the Bg. Add to this the trolling on the Bg channel and people swearing it's the map's fault, etc., and you have quite an unsatisfactory battleground compared to the epic battles that raged for hours before the Burning Crusade... ah, well.

First of all: Ah, that icy BIG thing.

And second, I only miss the old AV coz I'm used to the old AV placings, I'm not saying this is for the worse, just gonna take some time to get used to.

and ah yes -DEATH TO THE BOTS-

Nothing wrong with AV but the players that doesn't have a clue of how to play!

You taking Ino along? We could make a nice little stealth duo there. At least, even if we lose, we'll have some laughs! :)

Haha, would love too matey, but there are 2 problems.

1. I am back to Balance again so I'm mostly BOOMing stuff.
2. My poor Mac-book can't handle all the rendering. But when I get a decent PC again, I might respecc for some laughs :D

Your cat form isn't magically stripped away when you're a boomkin, so you can stealth with me and pop boomkin to blast allies. ;) The trick is to get out of the heat of battle using stealth and then assault unsuspecting enemy positions (like capping the towers at their base or even their graveyard). :)

Soon, there shall be another feral among us, when I'm done leveling Zaggorn, the level 34 black, enraged, and downright nasty tauren druid.

Hehe, looking forward to team up, but still. Need a better PC for it. But within time my friend..within time! ;)
