I Don't play WoW but was curious earlier. What happens when you die. Is there like a particular character who has to revive you sort of like a medic. or do you have to pay something in game to come back somewhere. Do you come back where you died or miles off behind where you were at last checkpoint or somet like that.

If it is the latter does (my only experience being nwn, where dieing was a complete arse having to trek back again) it not become a huge problem in the whole raiding thing i hear all about.

Yeah i guess I'm kinda asking for an idiots guide to WoW. I'm sure i could go find a wiki that explained it all but cba so i figured I'd ask you lot.

cheers

You can ressurect at a spirit healer which is close to a town, or you either run from a graveyard to your corpse, sometimes quite far. Ressurection at a spirit healer comes with 10 minutes of Ressurectin sickness, which is lots of bad things! :p

So you are temporarily all ghosty during this time then. So do you get that choice when you die. A butoon that is either go to spirit healer or go to graveyard. I'm presuming that the spirit healer is essentially instantaneous healing at a price hence the whole ressurection sickness thing. Can ppl rob your dead corpse of all your cool stuff while you lie dead on the floor during the trip from the graveyard.

When you lose all your HP you die and you can wait until a team mate casts a resurrection spell on you, or you can release your spirit. Releasing your spirit turns you into a ghost and you can either run to your corpse or get spirit healed. No-one can loot your corpse for your weapons, that would be mega frustrating! However, in battleground, when you see an enemy corpse you can take their insignia and you get some coin for it.

When you die and click release spirit, you are transformed to a ghost and immediately show up at the nearest graveyard. There is a spirit healer at every graveyard who you can talk to. If you ask the spirit healer to revive you, you get resurrection sickness as Nanor said. Your kit gets damaged further (so costing more to repair) but the benefit is that you are away from the place where you got killed.
Or the best way is to run back to the place where you got killed, and when over your dead body, you can then click resurrect. No resurrection sickness this way, and the damage to your kit is less.

Though, if you resurrect straight into a mob of bad people, then you're kit is fucked anyway. :P

Heh, nah. But sometimes you just don't see 'em. It's especially worse with stealthed enemies..

What happens when you die.

Who knows? I personally believe that, if you've been good (by good I don't mean 'stuck to the ten commandments' good, just behaved oneself) you go to your own personal heaven, so whatever your idea of bliss is, that's what heaven is like. For example, mine would be a penthouse flat with a balcony overlooking the Millenium stadium, where Wales continually thrash England in the World Cup final.

Oh, you're talking about WoW...
