Hi, does anyone know what order or how i can find out the order of the set affinity function of the task manager?

I assume the possibilities are one of the 2 below:

0. Physical
1. Physical
2. Physical
3. Physical
4. Hyperthreading
5. Hyperthreading
6. Hyperthreading
7. Hyperthreading
OR
0. Physical
1. Hyperthreading
2. Physical
3. Hyperthreading
4. Physical
5. Hyperthreading
6. Physical
7. Hyperthreading

I would make an educated guess at the second option you posted, based on what I know about the particular variables that are in use for WoW.

Here's a page on the WoW setting: http://www.wowpedia.org/CVar_processAffinityMask

It recommends that for an i7 you use a setting of "85" which is a combination of cores 0, 2, 4 and 6 - pretty much stating right there that your second assumption is the correct one.

[strike]I admit my primary assumption was the first choice (when you turn hyperthreading off it just shows 4 instead of 4 odd ones), Ill read that tomorrow.[/strike]

I was tired when i wrote that, looking at it now, it makey no sensey.

To be fair Win7 makes a good effort in doing all this automatically, can't imagine much reason for doing it unless like me you want to firewall off some CPU to browse the net while rendering.
