Where do you see the next Battlfield franchise going, if there is one?

Tbh I think they might go back to WW2, or if not that then probably another modern combat one. I just think making a futuristic battlefield game would be crap as they have always been based on historical events (I know bf2 isnt historical but the modern combat). I also think if it was anything before WW2 such as WW1 many people would find it boring, first of all there would be no tactical gameplay as your basically running into another trench and dying and secondly the weapons and technology would be kinda boring for a game such as this.

Modern or near future battlefield scenario.

Much larger! Larger squad make up. Would like to see 30 man squad with squad seargents and leiutenants. Proper chain of command. Would be great to see battles of 200 v 200 etc...

Larger maps, specific conquests, higher role for support and supply. Chinooks, realistic air battles (bombing runs are infrequent), greater realism etc...

RPG elements linked into rank. Pay to play, subscription service, maps based on campaigns. Missions given when you log on.

Goddamn it I want my virtual war and no developer is being adventurous enough.

It will come. It's the future and it can only be done on the PC!

Maybe this is a different game and direction though. Who knows?

A war game with 200v200 would simply be awesome, I can't wait for that. I think internet and computer technology limit the possibility for that to happen just now, but it's something to look forward to.

How about an online war that runs 24/7 and doesn't end for either team for weeks.

Yeah that's what I'm hoping for / maybe even dare expect a little... Although I want something that prolly won't be implemented, and that's some sort of penalty for dying - I'm thinking maybe a few hours of non-access or something like that.

what we want in a battlefield game is lots of blood and severed limbs :D

should make it based on the Germans and Russians in WW2 that was grizzly and lots of battles

bahahahaha I used to play that game religiously before I came to Uni... then the f**king University network blocked it and wouldn't allow the required ports due to the fact that there was about 1000 ports that needed opening... For anyone that does have an old account, Sony has recently re-activated them for FREE for 30 days (all old characters will be there)... all you have to do to get your 30 days is simply log in BEFORE the end of February...

I can remember some absolutely EPIC battles on Planetside... ah they were the good days. I logged in this morning and saw about 10 other people! :(

And whole Air Forces and Armoured Divisions! We could use Blitzkrieg tactics to own a future ladder!

I can see it now, whole columns of tanks speeding into battle, with planes dogfighting up ahead and men jostling for every building on the map!

Also, more types of veichles. Instead of just tanks, how about mobile artillery as well? And different types of planes: strategic bombers, air superiority fighters, strike fighters... the list goes on! Man, now i'm all excited lol
