I am basically want an idea of who is intrested in the mods, maps, conversions, game modes etc. etc. I ask because these will be released in the next few months and I just wanna see who would be up for playing on some of them.

Desert Conflict (Gulf War Mod from the developers of Desert Combat)
First Strike (Star Wars Mod)
Point of Existence (WWIII Mod)
Forgotten Hope 2 (WWII Mod)

List of Mini Mods (Released):

Project Reality (Realism Mod)
Surreal II (Wacky Mod)
Mercenaries (Not entirely sure)

Total BF2 Map packs 1 + 2 + 3

(Please note that this link has all the map packs and other maps that have been found by Haven)

Other:

Desert Conflict CTF (CTF Mod for vanilla BF2)

Now there are more mods and maps than this but the mods listed seem to be the ones that have a large fan base so will have many people playing to them on release. I think you will agree that a lot of these mods and maps are very professional and some of them even better than vanilla BF2. Oh and for people who love stats some of these mods have new ranking systems so you can still get medals and so on, only they wont go to EA.

So just post up what you think and whether or not you'll be playing any of them :)

Vanilla. Really not in the mood for total conversions..

Really? Oh well your opinion :).

As for me, I'll see what each one is like, and probably have a couple that I will play regularly. If they play as well as they look then I wont be playing much vanilla after the're out.

My main problem with conversions and mods is the take-up.

The statwhore approach of Bf2 doesn't really help either, I am however a big fan of mods and if they look popular I'll give them a try.

Mods i'm looking for:
DesertConflict
Eve of Destruction

The only massive mod I've ever come across was DC, if something gets like this, it'll be great, if not it'll be lame as there will be no-players. :-(

No, how many people actually take-up playing over vanilla

yes, obviously I'll play them, when I get the bloody box working well enough for bf2 again.

you did actually mean "that's a miniscule 80 gig", right?

Not really, I just meant that hes gonna have trouble getting these mods because some of them are over 1 gig big.

I'm waiting for the Insurgency mod for HL2 to be finished. It's reached beta testing and this is the latest comments:

"As I type this, 16 players are occupying our dedicated server. We have been playing for the past couple of hours and been having an absolute blast. Firefights are incredibly intense and very fun! The latest build looks great, is stable, and above all very enjoyable to play."

Sounds good.

I was replying to nanor's post :D

"when in doubt, check threaded mode" ;)

Threaded mode? What the frig?

Why not use the quote function, eh?!?!?

I don't like this term "Vanilla", yuk! From now on you shall all refer to standard BF2 as "Pure", or just "Standard" :p.

That is my decree as your Lord and Master.

You may go.

Yup, I love sarcasm. Problem with text is you can't tell if it's sarcasm. All sarcasm posts will be accompanied by </sarcasm> </sarcasm>
