Who will you level first?

Was just wondering...

Most people have 1 or more characters at 70 or near enough, have you decided who you will level first? Or will you alternate between chars?

:)

All depends, really

Would mostly prefer to lvl my paladin up first for the obvious reason as that is my main character. Would also like to get my mage through to lvl 80 and would most likely find it easier with her, however it wouldn't feel the same getting her to 80 as it would my main healadin.

Depends on who I'm levelling with. I'll likely end up doing both at the same time, but Arithidrimme will probably have preference.

Way it's looking atm; I'd level Ari alongside a few people like Ashya, Fae, Tellna, etc, and level Lithy either alone or alongside any of the Lincoln crew who stay in the game.

Depending on the final talent trees and scalability, either Zaggorn or a DK, since I'm all for getting a proper tank up and running ASAP when the need arises.

Rogue or hunter... depending on what happens after the pet talent trees come into play.

I have a DK in the beta, great starting levels, loads o' fun!
However, i wont make one untill I see how many are on the server, if there is too many I might not create one.

Im really not sure who to commit to but at the minute im swinging toward my pally, especially now they made significant changes to the ret tree.

Well, to be honest, I do not care that much about the number of death knights, since the whole point is to get a proper tank / dps capable class good to go, and since all tanks are still facing some awkward situations as Beta progresses, it is a matter of efficiency and gameplay (a warrior is far too boring for me as a tank, for instance).

Ah, definitely my priest Elaeria, then my hunter. Then maybe my druid if I can be bothered to level him to 70 before my game time runs out or before Wrath comes out, either of which is very unlikely.
Then I'll think about starting a death knight, but I'm not sure how professions work for them, if they start at 1 then it'll be a mighty drag to have to level them from that to the new cap...

They start at 55 :)

I'll probably level my druid for PvE and my shammy for PvP, dont know in what order, or whether I'll be too busy with WAR though...

Try reading his post properly, he's on about professions.

TBH he has a point - if you want to do mining/jewelcrafting, for instance, then getting the mats that will get you up to the equivalent of level 55 for your profession will be an absolute bitch. especially with the number of DKs that will be around. So if you're gonna start a DK, I would wait for a bit before doing professions...

As the part about professions was in commas, I read it as a side to the rest of the sentence, which would therefore read as, "Then I'll think about starting a death knight, if they start at 1 then it'll be a mighty drag to have to level them from that to the new cap..."

I can however, see that it was probably more likely to be about professions. I hadnt really thought about it before, but Im pretty sure Lith will confirm that they do start at 1, at least in the beta...

Yeah, I was saying that after I'd levelled my other characters to the new level cap, and at least levelled my priest's professions to the cap, then I'd start a DK. And as you said with the Mining/JCing, I'd probably go for that, because I lack a character with those professions, so it will be a mighty, mighty drag if you start professions from the beginning... It would either be heavily expensive (I expect the AH would be going to hell with the lower level trade items like ore, bars etc) or it would take ages to go and grind all those materials (again, as you said, there would be others doing the same...)

To quickly comment on DKs in relation to all said so far;

They start at 55 and have an incredible chain of quests to work through from 55-58, across the course of which you go from green gear to blue gear, learn your class-critical skills, receive talents points bit by bit, get your mount, and go through an incredible story.

And one of the final quests... well, I can quite simply say that it is the best quest I have ever done in the entire game. It was incredible.

Come Wrath launch, everyone's going to be jumping on the lets-make-a-DK bandwagon, and I'd heavily recommend steering clear for a while; maybe wait a few weeks or a month, enjoy levelling your main. Given time, the huge number of DKs will wither down to a smaller number as people realise that they either can't do stuff because there are too many of them, or drop it because they don't find it as entertaining as one of the other classes.

And as for professions... well, I'd leave it till 80; simple fact is, it takes ages to grind them up to an appropriate level, and it'd be better if you save it till you're sitting pretty at 80, by which time the realm economy should have stabilised and it'll be easier to get what you need to skillup rapidly.

^Ah... the problems of money. Y'see, for some of us who are either too lazy to grind money or are just terrible at saving it (I'm both) then we're a bit screwed...
