Why is nobody on IRC

Because my pc has been crashing more than usual, I have got fed up of loading IRC each time I reboot. It's not a habit anymore.
It's just too quiet on their now as well.

Not many people use IRC as many see it as a place for idle chat, and the shoutbox seems to fulfill that need.
