So for those of you who are interested, the Windows 7 beta 1 hit MSDN on Wednesday, and gets released to the public today!

For any of you software developers with MSDN subscriptions it can be found under Windows 7 in the Operating Systems category as usual (Requires FTM), for the general public it will be available from the Windows 7 Site from this "afternoon"

Want to try the Beta? Come back the afternoon of January 9.

I'm downloading of MSDN atm, i shall report back once it's installed!

-Edit-
It would appear microsofts download servers can't quite take the pace, the Windows 7 site is taking an eon to load, and my download rate is averageing 100kBps ( I can normally max out my connection at 900kBps -> 1mBps)

Thanks for your interest in the Windows 7 Beta. The volume has been phenomenal—we're in the process of adding more servers to handle the demand. We're sorry for the delay and we'll re-post the Beta as soon as we can ensure a quality download experience.
Whoops!

I might actually try this. Not that I have a spare PC to install it on, but I'd somehow bootstrap it to this one or I dunno. I presume Win 7 will require a separate partition for themselves...?

Yeah it's a full OS, in it's beta stage :) You'll probably want about 30-40GB of space for it, just be on the safe side...

Hmm, well I'm posting this from windows 7, so yeah, stuff installs fine. As for performance and things, i shall write a little review once I get my GDP individual project report finished later today!
