Wireless headset recommendations

A friend of mine is looking at getting a wireless headset so that he can sit on the other side of his front room and still game on his PC using his big TV.

As such, he wants a wireless headset. He does not, however, want to spend the same £150 I spent on a set of Logitech G930s :D

he's looking at spending ideally no more than £40, but if there's something just above that then maybe he could stretch :)

Anyone got any reccommendations?

Can just turn the sound up? I hear thats quite effective.
Fail troll is fail.

At £40 maybe at a push £60? he's not going to get any decent wireless headphones.

I think you may be able to find some phillips ones that may or may not be I.R. or pre-set channels (like a cheap remote control car) but these won't sound amazing.

Other option I suppose is something like the wireless X360 "head"phones if they work with a pc etc?

If you are just looking for gaming headsets then you can get some that are good enough. But by audiophile standards wireless headsets are fairly crap still.

Well the OP clearly stated that it was for a friend who wanted to game on his TV from across the room.

he's not interested in anything particularly fancy, because he won't use it that much, and in addition it's mainly so he can chat - he will still be using the sound from his TV, as far as I am aware

I know was more of a clarification of pandas point. Panda is a massive audiophile.

Only wireless gaming headsets I've tried are senns and logitech both of which are way over the £40 mark. If it were me I'd go with pandas suggestion of a decent length extension cable and a reasonable cabled headset.

Id say he should either up his budget to around 70-100 quid if he wants a good durable headset. you wont get one for cheaper.

Having said that I got this sweet new headset for 15 quid in a parts shop and I just got a really long cable to connect it up

Its the way to go and like most others said wireless headsets arent that good matey but hey I guess its his choice

The Turtle Beach X11s have a pretty long cable, and they only cost around 40 quid. Or go for the x41s for wireless but pay around 90 quid.

Had no issue with my x11s, but the xlc's dont look the same. Do they plug into the xbox controller? The X11s are normal 3.5mm jacks so they can go straight into a pc.
