I searched, no post here was forthcoming! So have you been hiding it from the rest of us?

It's still in beta btw, hence me saying it's not "out" yet. :p

Would you say it's more of an arcade-type feel than sim?

Cos i used to love an arcadey-type tank game on the amiga, called Conqueror. :)

It's very much a Tank Simulator ....

Builds from an old MMO called World War II Online (I think there is some crossover with the devs but can't remember exactly)

Was thinking of taking a look-see but while they claim that using "gold" (real money) to buy stuff won't change the game play, there is a bit on their "What do you get...." page that says
Premium shells have better armour penetration or wider explosive effect. They will help you in fighting heavily-armoured opponents, causing damage where normal shell would ricochet or not pierce enemy armour.

So, it DOES change the game play because you can buy shells that splat the cheapskates.

Or am I wrong? Can you still be competitive for free?

I'm referring to the controls though; the game I used to play had left track and right track on two diff keys (four including reverse), and you could rotate the turret and tilt up/down. Pretty basic but fun.

Panda with issues...

I suppose there may be one redeeming feature of this game - It may teach MMORPG players the correct use of the word 'tank'.

Some rules:

'Tank' is almost always a noun, describing an AFV, or armoured fighting vehicle.
A person, or character can never be a 'tank' since a tank is an AFV, they can be described as 'built like a tank' in reference to their physical appearance however.

Other acceptible uses:

A person could be 'tanked up' - in terms of having drunk a lot.

Another acceptible use as a verb: 'Man, Joe really tanked that test, he really flunked it'

I think you appear to be forgetting the OTHER meaning of the word tank, Ski....

What do you keep aquatic and reptilian animals in...?
