So out of curiosity, what is THNs boit de choix? For me it would have to be a nice big pint of lager, specifically Harp but I am a fan of Stella.

However I do enjoy an odd spirit. I used to be quite the fan of Vodka, namely Vodka and Red Bull, but then that didn't end well once. JD and Coke is pretty nice taste wise but haven't explored that enough to be honest.

As for poof juice; well, it's nice, yeah. Frankly I wouldn't waste my money on it.

Shots are fun. Aftershock, Jagerbombs and so forth.

All in all, Lager is where it's at.

You guys?

"You are Favourite Alcohol Drink"??

Rum, of course. I've been sober for a while, though!

Hm... I started off on whiskey, but much like your Winged Vodka that didn't end up well, so I find it difficult to like it anymore.

I don't like beer. It might sounds weird coming from a Czech dude, considering Czech beer is very good and usually costs less than water in bars/restaurants/pubs, but I simply do not find it appealing. Black beer (That's not what's it called in English, but I can't be arsed to look the proper term up - ale? You know, the dark one.) is bearable, as it has fuller taste.

Long drinks are fun, but cost a fortune. Not much else to say about them, I like them but do not yet have a personal favourite.

Never been fond of shots, really. They cost a lot, you get drunk on them too fast and well...meh. Some are all right, though - generally the sweet ones.

What I like is Fernet + tonic (+ citrus), so if I were to pick one drink above all else, this would probably be it. It tastes quite awesome, won't get you legally drunk (collocation?) and doesn't cost much :)

Yeah, and alcopops are fun. Frisco, Smirnoff Ice and the like.

I won't comment on wine, that's a separate issue I feel :)

I don't really drink these days.

However, when I do, I quite like an FBI.

I'm known to drink only red wine these days, specifically Merlot (yes, I have a strange expensive taste)

I used to be into shots, but after being veeeeeeeeery ill after a mixture of lager, sambuca and jagermeister I've become somewhat less keen.

when I'm out and about I usually drink lager or Bulmers, although thats quite expensive. My favourite drink is Guinness. I just love the stuff. It's black gold to me :D

Re: You're Favourite Alcoholic Drink

A tough question as my favourite drink is scenario dependent.

My favourite ever is:
Rum but specifically proper from a dockyard Navy pussers, not the store bought stuff. Stuff that will warm you all the way through and after about 3 of them will make you want to join the Navy run away to sea and sing shanties until you fall over. This stuff is rare and mostly only found in now older members of the Navy as it was given out to officers when they found it in the dockyards in the nineties.

Favourite drink while out drinking is the pint cocktail, particularly Frodo's from the Hobbit.

With a meal it is a nice glass of red wine or a pint of ale depending on the food. A nice dry white if it is fish or chicken.

Sitting in a country pub I'll go for a nice pint of the local ale, big favourites are old speckled hen, spitfire and adnams bitter.

Sitting of an evening at home in front of the fire it has to be a glass of a 20yr old single malt. Currently on a good Glenfiddich is tres tasty.

I put down Rum as I suppose my ultimate favourite drink ever was the old Naval rum.

Ale, but none of that watered-down piss you brits call ale - I need HOPS goddamnit (and 3.4%? what the hell is up with that?)

Decisions decisions!

Firstly, I used to love dark rum, but cant even stand the smell of it anymore after I drank a fair few too many in my first year of uni (a large quantity of which were from my shoe...) so thats a shame.

Shots are a social thing for me, its something you all do on a night out just to fill the gaps in the drinking rota.

For me it would have to be a nice big pint of lager
It comes in big pints now? Im getting one!
Lager is generally what I will drink due to me being a poor student and it being nice and cheap; I feel we work well together. Kronenbourg is my favourite lager, but ironically, usually a slightly more expensive one, making the whole cheap lager thing go out the window.

If I have the money for it I'll drink Guinness every time, and St Patrick's day is better than Christmas because of it :D

Like Bob, I'll drink ale if I go to a country pub on holiday or whatnot, my favourite there being Old Peculiar or Black Sheep.

Alcopops are what I drank when I was 14-16, cheap and cheerful. My friend and I last year decided to see if it was possible to get drunk off of them, as although they supposedly have similar alcohol content to lager, they dont seem to work as well at getting you drunk. After 4 litres each and not even a slight effect, we gave up and decided it just wasnt going to happen :p

Wine I dont drink often, and its usually only if Im in a restaurant or some such, usually Italian.

But finally, my favourite drink is Glayva. Its a 'honey whisky' and I'll drink it straight or mixed, depending on the occasion. I absolutely love the stuff and always have a bottle of it somewhere, which I believe Im now going to go and find...

Oh, and whilst I think of it, one last drink I did try a couple of years ago, that I'll order as a 'starting drink' if Im in the right place, is treble Cherry Corkys and Red Bull. It is a taaaasty tasty drink and as its Corkys, my local uni pub's offer of 3 trebles for £6.95 means you can easily go through all three yourself and not feel any effects from it. (For those that dont know, Corkys is a vodka based shot/shooter at 20% alcohol).

It dont know if it saddens me or makes me proud that my longest post on this forum so far is on alcohol preferences...

I may not drink alcohol, but, I'm pretty sure Kronenburg is a Cider, not a Lager ;)

[edit]Sorry, Ignore me, I'm thinking of something with a similar name aren't I, Kronenburg 1664 is a lager.

I was thinking of Kopperburg[/edit]

Try Bishops Finger. In fact I recommend the big three Sheperd Neame ales. My favourite is Spitfire, although Master Brew is nice for when you want to drink for a long time without waking up the next morning with a stonking great ale hangover.

Yeah, it's alright I guess. But Spitfire is too mild. Again, I need hops :)

Er, Greene King or something like that. But I think that one was 3.6, it was another one that was 3.4.

Definately Spitfire, 'downed all over kent just like the luftwaffe'

Lager = Kronenbourg
Stout = Guiness, prefferably Foreign extra stout. 7.5 %
Spirit= Tequila , it is soooo much better than vodka and Sambuca as it doesnt make you feel sick. Just burns the throat :)

Re: You're Favourite Alcoholic Drink

Doc Greene king is an IPA hence why it is so light, what your looking for is a nice glass of Old Peculiar :)

if i'm out drinking it'll either be Guinness or one of the ales on tap

i can't drink Kronenbourg any more as the brewery is not far from my flat it ruins what little taste there is for me

Re: You're Favourite Alcoholic Drink

I'm gradually working my way through Asda's collection of bottled ales, although I'm very partial to Old Speckled Hen.
