I was going to start with spot the 3xs build right there but as you have now told me it is i feel my mad skills seem a little irrelevant.

It's a good build but tbh unless you are going all out (ie pro OCing and cooling) then it is easy to build it yourself.
I'll go make a spec for you now.

My 5p worth (I'm cheap...:))

1. Core 2 Quad is nice if you're into video/audio encoding or running multiple tasks at the same time. Otherwise it'll spend most of the time sitting idle.

2. PC8500 RAM.. I guess you're going to be overclocking then...

3. 8800GT....high failure rates with the first batches due to the die shrink and in very very short supply at the moment.

4. Forget the Raptor - they look nice on paper but the difference between them and a normal SATA II drive is minimal (fractions of seconds)...and they get hot....and can be noisy.

Otherwise it looks good....

Its for Video Editing / Encoding so the box's are ticked !

The 8800 is far cheaper and obviously has a higher performance rate ( on Scan 3XS there are a reserved supply of 8800's ( why I don't know ... ) ) And the HDD has been pointed out by a few people thus that will probably be getting replaced.

Just to put my spoke in about the raptors, I've owned two for four years now (pretty much since they came out), they have worked flawlessly and despite the fact mine predate NCQ they are plenty fast enough with very low latency seek times. Transfer rates however do not keep up anymore with high capacity modern drives. As for the noise factor, that depends on your chassis, mine are silent.

Despite the above I would strongly recommend you look at a drive with perpendicular technology and also NCQ, I think pretty much all SATA II drives support NCQ now. One of the latest Seagates (7200.11 series) would be a very strong choice if I were buying right now. Don't bother with raid unless you're running Raid 5 in hardware as its just not worth it.

for the ram if it's not DDR3 you'd be most likely be better going with the equivalent PC6400 and OC yourself, you'd have to double check but last time i looked both the Crucial Ballistix and the Corsar XMS2 used exactly the same micron chips in the PC6400 as in the PC8500 ( you want to look for micron chips and unles you get the 1.8v PC8500 it's not worth it. you sould be able to do a volt\clock mod on the 6400 to exactly the same speed as the 2.1/.2V PC8500)
For a video editing machine you want to go with 4GB memory minimum even if you loose some to windows (edius and Avid eat RAM for breakfast...). also as has been said raptors really don't make a difference a nice segate barracuda would do the job just as well. also for a setup like that you should only need a 600W PSU, a nice 700-750W would give you pleanty of headroom

shiny
though i recommend running a scan disk tool on the WD drives as my flatmate just put 6 into our file server and had to remap sectors on 3 of them (sometimes sectors get missed when the disks are being made in the factory and it seems to be affecting some of the latest batch)
