Well I replied in the Multiplay Thread myself, so here's what I posted there:

Me on the Multiplay forums said:
Voted Telford myself.

Can't drive but transport can be sorted.

My main concerns:
-People throwing things around in the hall. Can we please make sure that there are no easily throwable objects handed out as freebies? I saw a couple of incidents at stoneleigh where those frisbees that everyone was chucking around knocked people's drinks over. Not good. A crackdown on anyone caught throwing stuff would be good.
-Security, particularly in the campsite. A number of people have raised the point - that campsite looks like it's easily accessible to outsiders, So I'd like to see a regular, VISIBLE security presence in the campsite at ALL TIMES, questioning anyone who doesn't have a pass and wristband on. (maybe make the wristbands flourescent?)
-Not sure on the general opinion within my community yet - a couple of people just don't care, a couple of others didn't like Stoneleigh, so we have a couple of people potentially pulling out, but I can put up with that. You can't please everyone, and while some of the existing crowd of people may not like the idea, I think that this may well attract a whole new group of people to the event, spreading the word about how awesome LANs are to even more people :)
-I'd like to see concrete details on these potential clanbox areas, it was mentioned in IRC earlier I believe that use of such area may require a premium on top of the regular ticket price, this is ok by me as long as it is appropriately priced, but I would like to see more details on the size of each area and how many there are, and obviously what we're getting for our extra monies :)
-If there are no on-site showers, more than 6 will be needed! Perhaps mandatory hosedowns of all people who quite blatantly haven't used a shower by the Saturday afternoon could be arranged :D

-I personally will attend the LAN wherever it is (season tickets 4 lyfe), but I think that, knowing that there could be a venue change for during i42 it is somewhat bad form to release the tickets for i43 without giving this information out in advance. Yes you'd still have people that had made arrangements before i42 moaning but there would be many many less people that had already made arrangements moaning about then having to re-arrange things.

The massive ball ache of getting there aside. I much prefer Newbury as a venue. Stoneleigh as one massive hall was all right but ended up much more about sitting down playing games and not chatting/socialise as much. It will also suck massive balls to not have the clan box anymore. Having now done pretty much every combination and having sat in most locations LANs have to offer the clan box wins by a long way.

I'm going either way and will reserve final judgement until after the event. This is potentially a great move by mpuk to grow the company and the event but mark me as unconvinced.

I would sorely miss a clan box, but then again I did enjoy the big hall feeling of coventry. Plus there'd be new food options, and optional hotels for the colder months. Hmm. I would certainly be interested in giving it a try..

For me the clan box is very important, but i can live with a venue change, because while im only just used to newbury thats just it, going to one place once isnt enough to bias me against trying a new place.

I dont know why, but the clan box not being on the ground floor made it super awesome.

As this is only my second time at the rodeo i havent really got any basis for comparison. I will say as for easing in new people the clan box was nice and gave an excellent group atmosphere.

I can see why they would want to move from Newbury as there really wasnt anywhere left to expand to.

I hope they stay at newbury. That telford venue looks soulless, its just exhibition halls.

I'll be interested to see what options they come up with in terms of boxes available for those who dont just want to sit in a giant concrete room

Location-wise, Telford works better for me for future events. Takes over an hour off my travel time. Also, being closer to real places should make finding a hotel at comparatively cheap prices fairly easy and/or keep the price of their onsite hotels down.

I also preferred Newbury, especially the clanbox, but I notice that Wizzo mentioned clanboxes and the possibility of creating something similar at Telford. I imagine, however, he means by putting up dividers rather than providing separate rooms... though he does mention "potential for airconditioned boxes".

Honestly, I don't mind which site. It doesn't seem to matter a whole lot (to me). At Stoneleigh, I played games. At Newbury, I played games. At Telford, I'd play games. In between times, I imagine there'll be food ordered, some wandering between desks chatting, and probably some exhibition or presentation wandering. If I'm there with THNers, doesn't seem to matter to me where it is (within reason). Clanbox just makes it more about being with THNers, for me, and less about there being other people (who don't really interest me much).
