Yeah (fingers crossed) DF hasnt gone bad on me while playing yet. It only ever crashes on startup.

Fortress is finished, we now have 8/10 training AxeDwarves (one of them was slaughtered by a troll)
Things of note:
Forgot outdoor farming, creating fort entrance with moat and bridge.
Created Well.
Setup a Hospital but do not yet have any equipment in there.
There is a locked, separate entrance to the caverns, they're mostly safe, but that is where I had one troll come out of.
Bears are a common occurance.
I suggest that maybe we pass the gave over to ghostwolf next, before Nanor, so that he isn't far too out of his depth when Nanor causes the inevitable shitstorm

While reviewing despatches from the fortress, I notice the following:

- The population is 59, though 2 of these are (useless) children.
- A number of dwarves of working age are currently idle.

Yep i'll give it my best shot!
First orders of business i guess are
1. Brew more drink
1.1. More farm fields (both outdoors and in)
1.2. Probably another still.
2. An outdoor courtyard and another drawbridge.
3. A second entrance to the fortress before inevitable ambushes.
4. More military buildup (possibly marksdwarves).
5. Make less mooching dwarves.
6. Make bigger tip.
7. Defend lever with ceiling.

Worth noting that the entrance drawbridge, including the lever to close it, is currently overlooked from above and thus is a shooting gallery for ambushing archers. A ceiling would probably sort that out most easily.
Also worth noting that the drawbridge isn't wide enough for carts so some caravans can't make it to the depot.
By the by, Trax, what was the problem with the fortress map upload?
What did you answer when the compression app asks you about legacy map generation? FYI, I just answer "yes", I think. Also, I assume you were using the compressor/converter in its basic mode?
