Well, here goes. The most important rules in combat are (in no particular order):

1. Reloading Before moving from one firefight into another, reload your weapon. You don't wanna go storming in there to here your trigger just go click. Always use supply drops to max out your supplies and if you think your getting low on ammo don't hesitate to call for more.

2. Use Cover Whenever possible, use crates, sandbags, buildings etc. to avoid enemy fire. If you even think you've been spotted, move fully behind a solid object to protect yourself from hostile bullets. Better safe than...erm...dead.

3. Clear out The last thing you want is an enemy squad springing up from behind you. Make sure that you are thorough in area checks before moving on.

4. Stay on the move in order to avoid being sniped or being blown up by artillery, keep moving. If you've just taken an enemy base, move away from the flag. Chances are the enemy commanders gonna get his guns raining lead on the capped flag, so get away from it.

5. Use your squad Ignore the war films. If you go running into enemy machine guns, they're gonna mow you down pretty damn quickly. Make sure that after each fight your squad is reloaded and prepared before pushing on. Also, make sure you have enough support with you to move up. A lone soldier is often a dead soldier.

6. Stance If you stand up straight, your gonna be less accurate and your also a much bigger target. Crouch and lie down to make yourself much smaller and much more accurate.

I know these guidlines won't always work, especially on a game, but stick to them as much as you can and your k/d will shoot through the roof! (In a good way of course)

Hope you don't mind if i add more..

7. Stay Alert This goes for all classes, but particularly Medics and Support. Try not to run around with your medic/ammo bag out too much, only when they need ammo/health should you give it to them. If you see an enemy and you have your health/ammo bag out you're going to need to take out your weapon, which does take a while, giving him the first and vital oppertunity to take you out first.

8. Expect the unexpected Vital! If you're capping a flag you're not going to expect a few heavy vehicles to arrive and even a black hawk to come and rain down 166.666666666666666666666667 Bullets per second (true). So, you should have anti tanks primed and ready and someone on a nearby AA or a machine gun atop those jeep boyo's.

9. Ressupply at intervals When expecting a heavy income of troops that's going to last a while, you're going to run out of bullets or get low on health. When this happens you don't want to be pestered by squad mates for ammo/health. To stop this throw down lots of ammo and health so people can just run and get them when they need them. Try not to throw them where the enemy can reach them, for obvious reasons.

10. Tanks if a tank or APC comes your way and you dont have A/T or C4, just curl up somewhere and keep your arse out of sight because your gonna die, just let it roll on by because grenades do about as much damage a small fluffy teddy in bubble wrap (well maybe a little more), anyway chances are a gunship is on its way 2 blow the mother plugger away

11. Spot then Shot If you see an enemy that's going to potentially cause some havoc for you, say you're support and you come against a tank, spot the tank so anti tankers can do their job.

12 Pickup Kits If you see a tank and there's an anti tank kit nearby, for the live of god, pick it up and do damage to that tank. Likewise if you're anti-tank and are running out of missiles and there's a support kit lying beside you, pick it up, throw down lots of ammo bags and you can be on your merry way. If you're running along CoD2 style with bullets flying past your head, tanks to the left, artillery to the left and you're team mate get's shot leaving blood everywhere especially on the day when you decided to wear a white shirt pick up his medic kit, or another one that's nearby and revive him.

13. Reviving When reviving it can be a reasonably tricky ordeal for some, the trick is to aim for teir upper body, the body mass is bigger up there, so therefore you have a better chance of revive. Also, after every revive, leave your defribulators to recharge (pre 1.13 patch).

14. Spray and pray is never a good choice unless your target is 2 ft away, take the time to aim because you will take them down and save ammo for the next unfortunate person to run into.

15. shoot and scoot dont hang around camping because people will clock onto your position and nade or assault it, keep on the move to avoid the enemy commander from dumping large chunks of explosive metal onto you.

16. Grenades If there's a squad of troops all holed up in one position, don't go in all guns blazing, first throw in a grenade, this will at the very least shell shock them, giving you a massive advantage.

Wow, this is turning out to be quite a helpful 'lil post. Time to throw another one into the ring...

17. Communication Make sure that, as a squad leader, you keep your commander well informed on whats going on. Use requests to indicate that you need help and use the VoIP to spell it out to him.

:( Still haven't got any positive reputation marks yet. Are they the holy grail of forums? Or just hard to come by?

18. Effective Air support As an attack chopper pilot, try to listen out for squads in Teamspeak asking for your help. A little air support with the co-pilot rotary gun will do hell to an enemy squad. Likewise squad leaders, don't be afraid to ask for air support.

18. Close air support a good jet pilet can dominate a battlefield, carpet bombing is always good on large groups of infantry and armor, just listen for people who spot these things and go and blow them up

20. Anti Tank - remember that if you hold down the left mouse button when you launch your missile you can then guide it to some extent if the target is moving. You can also hold down the mouse button to stay zoomed in when using a sniper rifle too. This allows you to see where the bullet has gone so you can get a better idea for where to aim should you miss

PS: this sounds like a candidate for stickification to me

Lol, :p.

Every now and then if I have a large squad, I write down what class they should be in each map and stick it to the edge of my screen :).

Helicopters Apart from the main gun on the T-90/M1A2, the 50-cal on the hummer is the best weapon. If you want to go chopper-hunting, find somewhere with cover on at least one side to hide behind. Wait until the chopper is overhead or past you. The weak points are the undersides and the engines.

Anti Tank: When aiming for a tank, try to hit the tracks. The easiest way to aim at these is either infront or behind the tank.

Hitting the tracks does a whopping 10 points of damage and 2 direct hits in this area will cause the tank to explode instantly (not just set on fire like those bloody APC's).

Although make sure you don't miss and shoot _under_ the tank, done that a couple of times and it's not fun.

Hmmm, how about some SL ones.

  • Shout at your squad until they do something right.
  • Accept responsibility for nothing, there is always someone to blame.
  • Lead on the way there, pick a fight, hide, wait for your squad to deal with it.
  • Slow and steady wins the race.
  • Be a hypocrite.
  • Be a Medic.

Oh, and never forget, your squad is always the best!!!

Hmmm, how about some SM ones.

Listen to and agree with your SL, even if their orders make no sense.

Dont feel upset if your SL blames you for him dying alot.

Be prepared to be confronted by lots of the enemy that the SL missed on his rush to the flag.

If 'possible' use jets to keep up with your SL.

Give much praise to your Godlike SL.

Enjoy the view of the sky again for 15 sec's, because there is never a medic around when needed.

Oh, and never forget, your squad is always being dug out of a hole by Bravo.

LOL
