So, it's in the mail now. I'll get it after the weekend, prolly.

Who else is getting it? I think it will rock the pants off WoW, personally :D

Although I don't know for sure, of course. I will be playing on a rppvp server, aquilonia (i think), with a mate that's been in an RP guild in WoW up until now. Him and about 40 of his mates from that guild are all migrating to AoC, so there should be plenty of opportunity for rping, if you're into that sort of thing (like me). Also, I hear you can build your own forts. Excellent.

Anyway, expect to hear some reports of how awesome it is (unless it's not, in which case you will hear reports of how disappointed I am, instead).

YES! DocBot you sex monster! I was thinking of getting this but no-one else appeared to buy it.

But should I buy it? Is your mate Swedish? I don't think I'd fit in with a bunch of Swedes. No offence, I just speak with my throat more than my tongue. :p

I'm tempted...

Looking forward to hearing about it, DB. It's not currently on my radar but perhaps if you give it a good thumbs up I'll be tempted to try it out. :)

Am I to interpret this as nanor likes to take, the proverbial "it", more than he likes to give, the proverbial "it". Or have I taken this way out of context :D

My norweigan friend is getting it, and keeps telling me I should, I'll wait a bit more first... see what he says :)

This game is really good! I'm playing an Assassin on Docbot's server (Aquilonia). I'm loving the damage and abilities of the Assassin but I die really easily. The graphics are pretty leet too!

There's a profession called House Redesign. Some level 80 has persuaded new comers Jill and James to re-design their old house into a pirate themed bar complete with wenches.

It costs just over £10 a month. Totally worth it. You can get time cards which are something like £17 for 2 months.

Does it come with the usual "30 days free" that most MMOs normally have?

/me is tempted.

As if I dont already have enough to play already...

Yup, 30 days free. If you order from play you get a free Rhino mount too as well as a belt. It's really cool! :)

While my game patches I think I'll give you all a bit of an idea about what the game is like.

You start off in a boat where you customize your character and chose your class. There are 12 classes each broken up into 5 archetypes. The Soldier, the Rogue, the Priest and the Mage. As far as I know each Archetype gets a few of the same abilities but the classes differentiate massively! I played a Ranger and an Assassin and the difference in those classes is astounding.

Combat is an absolute dream. Picture WoW where when you use an ability on someone that's melee it just hits the air. In this it actually digs into them. It's an orgasm for the eyes. And the fatalities... Oh sweet Jesus... the fatalities!! My first experience of PVP was a fatality. There was a demonologist who attacked a member of my group when we were doing Underhalls. I used a combo (Which work surprisingly well, requiring you to press a corresponding button to initiate an attack (No Blokey, not like guitar hero)) on the girl and it played the animation of me shoving my dagger in her stomach and cutting her throat. It was absolute genius!

The 'tutorial island' I am in sounds bland, but it definitely isn't. There are three instances in Tutorial Island. Underhalls which is a dungeon themed instance (Stratholme, maybe?) where you go down to kill the Red Hand and do a multitude of different quests. White Sands where you take a quick boat over to an Island dominated by Picts. Think Stranglethorn Vale except instead of Trolls you have Picts. Finally the Acheronian Ruins themed as the foot of a giant erupting volcano (Burning Steppes) where you must battle Picts and a hell of a lot of demons. Three completely different instances give the game a real change of pace if you're bored of the scenery.

The best part is you can do these instances in Normal and Epic. You can do a quick run through fighting normal mobs if you want it done quickly but for less XP and loot.

Instances aren't really instances per se. There are about a dozen different instances meaning you can have other players in there as well as your party. Combine this with the fact you can PvP anyone you'd imagine it gets quite hairy. Well, it doesn't. At least on the server I'm on people are very kind and let you get on with your quests. There's no language barrier either!

I haven't even scratched the surface. GO BUY THIS GAME!
