Zeutan, Secord, Kdavre and Ragingbone all went for a looksie in Razorfen Downs last night.
This a Medium sized Instance situated in the South Barrens. It is recommended for levels 37-46.
Its a hell of a grind to just get to the Entrance. If you dont know the route in, you must expect to have to kill off 50+ level 33/35 Elites before you stumble across the portal.
Once inside the caverns, its a pretty simple 'keep grinding forward' fight. Pull in the mob, wipe them out, then on to the next. Visually the place is nothing spectacular, but the mobs and bosses have a good variation to anything I have seen before.
The best part are the drops and cash. We must have taken 35 gold between us, and the green and blue drops were of a high standard.
There is a quest to be found and completed just outside the instance. It involves killing the Ambassador, and is well worth picking up before you start your way towards the portal from the meeting stone. You might as well get the extra XP and cash on your way in.
The best quest by far, was one that I picked up 3/4 of the way through. It involved escorting a guy for 5 mins, then protecting him during a massive fight where the mobs come at you non stop for ten mins. I didnt realise the quest could not be shared, and am very willing to return to the instance with anybody (especially Kdavre) who wants to get this quests reward,
Dragon Claw Ring. Nice isnt it.
All in all..Maybe not the most fun Instance, but definitley not the worst. I think a full group of level 34 minimum is required to avoid wiping out every two mins. The VERY long walk from the grave yard at Camp Taurajo would get very tiresome after a while. Or do as I did..Take along a level 58 uber-killing machine by the name of Secord. It does cut the time to finish the Instance by half. I think we had 5 quality blue drops in total, 30+ green drops, and like I mentioned earlier about 35 gold in total. Oh and about 25000 XP as well.
