Astoundingly good performance

Hmm, in my opinion it's impractically hot, as it requires watercooling (or it throttles badly), and a rather beefy PSU, which also means you can't just get any case. Tom's has a history of showing off Intel CPU's at the highest possible frequency, being sensational about their achievements, and having a warm relationship with Intel. Who's to say they're not using a ringer? I've yet to see a tech journalist hail Tom's for their fair and balanced methods.
But enough accusations, just attacking the article itself is just as easy. The first misleading statement is at the end of the first page where it says "stable operation was possible at 4.1 GHz, and without even the need for substantial boosts to cooling!". Since when is water cooling and a high end PSU not substantial anymore? It's plain misleading.

It's impressive, but that's all it is.

Conroe (Core2) is around the corner, although the challenge there will be to obtain the highest possible FSB. It'll be an interesting thing to watch, a 1.83Ghz Conroe for $204 running at 2.75GHz with DDR2-800 and a 1.6GHz FSB will be a sight to behold, and likely to operate at stock cooling, given the TDP of the other models.

yes i noticed that too "no substantial cooling is needed apart from the huge liquid nitrogen tanker!"
