[BC2] The RETURN of the Battlefield Bad Company 2 night!

Panda with issues...

As an aside, I'd prefer friendly fire to do damage, as it actually makes target ID an important part of the game.

I vary between preferring hardcore and not. I prefer the realism, but dislike how it promotes sniping and lmg spam.

Will be on again, for as long as my connection allows... don't suppose anyone is with Virgin (UK) and has had issues with the connection to the game server randomly dropping out? Alternatively, if anyone has Virgin and doesn't have said issues.

Found a forum thread somewhere that suggested turning off uPNP on the router, but that seems to have done diddly-squat. Also, don't have the same issue with anything else I play.

I'm on the Virgin 100meg service phil and I have had no BC2 issues at the moment. uPNP is on. Are you on the wired/wireless?

Phil, Check your connection via http://www.pingtest.net and http://www.speedtest.net if all is well you should have an all round A-B Rated connection with Virgin Cable connection.

If you are playing on a wirless machine then this might be your issue, if not test your router has UPNP option that is on.

And if you have any kind of "Stutter" with Speedtest.net it may be something to do with your Firewall/Virus software.

Hope it fixes its self :D

PS - as a prerequisite grab Java for Pingtest.net

Thanks for the suggestions, will have another look when I'm at home this evening. I'm doomed to using wireless unfortunately. Two cats put pay to having any length of cable anywhere, even pinned to the wall! (I've lost too many cables as a result of cats being over-inquisitive with their teeth and claws)

Gotta agree with bloke, too much realism can deter from fun.

And as uber leet and hardcore as you think you might be, FF will always end up in frustration when another player walks in front of you at *precisely* the wrong moment, then you get penalised for it.

I had fun the other night, will probably get back into this properly at some point, though it's far cry from the fun MP games of yore.

Well, i can certainly understand why people wouldnt play/like hardcore for me, and almost everyone that likes it find hardcore easier. Admitedly the lack of minimap really sucks.
