Am actually it says specifically 'retail patch'. It is for anyone who is buying a boxed copy rather than the EA downloader version which already has it on so I'm not quite sure what all the moaning is about.

Where did you order it from? I have it ordered from play, but it only got dispatched today; it'll probably arrive Monday, but I might get extraordinarily jammy and get it on Saturday. Until 4 today I was hoping to cancel my play.com order and buy it from GForce in town (whom I know definitely have it in stock today). However, my play.com order had gone into processing which is too late for me to cancel, so despite my best efforts at submitting fake credit card details to try and make the order cancel, it went through and got dispatched :/ I would gladly have paid £30 at GForce and had it today, than wait for play.cunt to get their arse in fifth.
I ordered it from cd-wow.com, just played for 2 hours and must admit, I like it!
The performance is much better than on beta versions, as you would expect I guess. I was getting good framerates (average 35-40fps) with medium settings at 1152x864. I have Intel 3.2GHz, 2GB Ram, 6800GT. I did have dynamic lighting effects all off thougth (whats the point in them anyway) and filtering low.
When playing on 64 player maps, had to reduce settings all to low to get decent frame rate.
The maps are a refreshing break from verdun.

Wooo! 2142 got delivered this morning, miracle of miracles! Now all that stands in the way is a driving lesson, so as long as I don't crash and die Ill be playing within the hour!

Got BF2142 yesterday. Still no internet, but been playing offline. Getting quite good at the flying bit too Avergaing anywhere been 0 and 40 points a round against the bots set to skill level 70+! Mostly from shooting down the enemy fly-boys, or defending flags, but meh!
I do like this a lot. Except the spyware. And the trouble with installing it. Still, fun times!

Just a quick double post. If you use EA's BF2142 Veteran program, which transfers your player details from BF2 to BF2142, you get a free promotion and unlock! \o/
Which is nice!
This is also the only way I could make an account in BF2142 as when I click the "Create New Account" button, I get a lovely "Server timed out" message.
