I did say 21:00 GMT in chat, (although I was probably being rather confusing about it :p) - this is 1:44 from now. I can try to be on earlier, and also make a shout in the box when I'm ready to go. Exact moment of my availability comes down to my daughter, but 21:00 GMT is the very latest I'll be able to start.

I can do 21.00, but is 20.00 any better for you?

I can do either, but would prefer the earlier slot if possible.

If I don't hear from you, I'll see you at 21.00.

So had my game against Pottsy's Gobbos... poor creatures slaves to their masters cruel ways.

Blitzer "Nagging Wife" seemed destined to greatness... having killed a gobbo (apoch -1 move) and niggled a second goblin in a few turns. But alas having spoken of the uselessness of the bombardier a bomb took "Nagging Wife" to the after life... dead with 13 SPP (apoch -1 str... decided to be merciful and let her die instead.)

Thankfully I had just bought a new Catcher... "Venereal Disease". I can say "Venereal Disease" was all over the place and spreading... managing 2 TDs and 1 BH Cas. Nasty catcher.

Some highlights:

Thrower "Hot Co-worker" besides 2 successful passes also managed a 1 die block that KO'd the fanatic (Str 7) when the elves ganged up on him...

Lineman "Low Salary" made a perfect kick to the ankle of a downed troll... maiming him forever (-1 move no regen)

Among many failed attempts at throwing Goblins there was a particularly hilarious one... where the famished troll ATE the gobbo ! Seems Pottsy is not feeding his players well that they must resort to eating their playmates.

Final Score 4-1

2 TD by Blitzer "Your BOSS" and 2 TD by "Venereal Disease".
MVP went to rookie lineman "House Work" for his bravery facing down trolls !

So, Myself and Xylak just played an awesome match, with both of us having our fair share of both good and bad luck.

I started with 370k in inducements due to the difference in TV, and would have bought the star player Rameses III (I think that's his name?) but he cost 380k, so instead I opted for the Halfling master chef and a single bloodweiser babes.

I decided to kick to start, and after stealing one reroll and being witness to a riot that caused the clock to run down by a turn, Xylak received the ball and was able to pick it up with one of his ghouls. After a bit of a fight in the middle, he was able to open up a gap for his ballcarrier to squeeze through on my left flank - despite my best efforts at attempting to get him to fail dodges, he passed them and scored. 1-0 to Xylak.

That was Xylak's 6th turn, so at the restart it was my 6th turn. A bad kick off from Xylak gave me a touchback, allowing me to give the ball straight to the Thro-Ra I had positioned on my left flank. Instantly I was able to smash the two guys he had on that wing to the ground and force the Thro-Ra through into his territory. Though he was unguarded, I was able to get a couple of players up to block the easy access up this flank, and this had the required effect. Long story short, last action of the half I take the ball over the line, making it 1-1 at half time.

Xylak kicked off, and managing to exploit the fact that I only had one player not on the front line, was got the ball to rest as far as it would go in my own TD area, on the bottom-rightmost square. Some terrible defending from myself, including a turnover right before I was going to attempt the pickup left a gaping hole that he was able to get a ghoul with +1MA and a Wight through. They quickly saw off the single skeleton I had guarding my Thro-Ra and on the next turn pushed him off the pitch and picked up the ball in my own endzone for an instant touchdown.

After the restart, where the fans decided to Get the Ref, we both ended up with a bribe each. Turns out we didn't need either though....

On the kickoff, I again received touchback and gave the ball to the Thro-Ra I had positioned on my left. I then proceeded to totally flatten his front line over the next two turns, knocking out three players, including both his wights, and opened up a massive hole on his left side, which I was able to breeze through. I hadn't counted on his Ghouls being able to dodge in and get to my ballcarrier, however, and with 3 turns to go he smashed the ball out of my Thro-Ra's hand. At this point, I had 2 players occupying a skeleton on the right, two Tomb Guardians occupying his two Mummies in the centre of the field, and the rest of my team on the left, trying to deal with his three ghouls. The rest of his players were off the pitch.

They would not stay down, and a failed pickup by me left me with very little time to score. Then the breakthrough happened. Attempting to dodge away from one of my Blitz-Ras, one of his Ghouls failed the dodge. Then failed the reroll. Then fell over and tried eating himself or something, as he ended up dead (woo!). This, coupled with the fact that I had managed to fell one of the other ghouls by this time, meant I had a hole to break through finally... Problem was, picking up the ball... I'd had to get one of my Thro-Ras in position to get to the endzone and the other had had to push a skeleton out of the way, leaving me with a skeleton to pick up the ball. He manages to do so, I manage to hand-off the ball to the Thro-Ra within range, and after a successful GFI it's 2-2, at the end of my 16th Turn.

...The story of the match doesn't end there, though...

Xylak still had one turn left, so I lined up my 4 Tomb Guardians on the centre, thinking they could take some punishment, and then placed the rest of my team out of harm's way.

First block comes in against my leftmost Tomb Guardian, not only does he knock him down, he breaks through the armour... and kills him. Dead. Failed regeneration, so now I'm one TG down. Then a second block flies in, and causes ANOTHER injury to a Tomb Guardian, such that he'll miss the next game.

...Revenge appears to be a dish best served with a punch to the face, in this case :D

Final score: 2-2.
One death each, I also have another Tomb Guardian missing my next match. FORTUNATELY, however, my next match is a bye so I'll get my TG back and should be able to also buy a replacement with the monies that I WAS going to use to buy a reroll........

... Awesome match report ...

Indeedy. The Bowl was, quite literally, Bloody. What a great game.
I did enjoy the kick into the far corner of the endzone, blitzing to slam his dude off the pitch then going for it to pick up the ball and score.
It does seem, however, that we can't yet decide which is the superior team*.

Good fun but next time, thatbloke, I shall be... TRIUMPHANT!

Well, Dreamy and I had a very enjoyable, and odd game.

It didn't start well for me (fairly rusty, having started off with a tough bye week last week) when I set up to kick the ball, wondering WTF dreamy was doing with his players, when suddenly he kicked the ball to me, and I laughed about how out of position my players were, in addition, I'd left one of my best players on the bench by accident. Already in a hole, it went from bad to worse, as some great injury rolls for Dreamy left me with three injured players in his first 3 turns or something ridiculous, including my kicker.

My Yeti, useless in EVERY game so far proved his worth yet again, as he was injured on Dreamy's second block of the game, before even doing anything.

I was in a massive hole, and dreamy had me bogged down on the RHS of the LOS. I could tell my S4 Guard lineman was causing him serious problems though (and rightly got the MVP for the game). Dreamy's grab treeman was highly effective, and he used him well, putting good pressure on my feeble attempts at a protective pocket.

The number of players began to even up though, and I got a few KO's and an injury, which prevented me from being too swamped, and the problems my frenzy was causing dreamy on the sideline meant he had to be very careful, and the amount of block I had quickly depleted him of rerolls.

Some good play on my part led to me strarting to gain a bit of space, as I set up a possible pass play with a few linemen on the other side of the pitch. Dreamy had to spread out a bit, and this allowed me to push through, and score in the final turn.

Dreamy tried for a one turn TD but it didn't come off.

Second half, I was down a few players, and it was always going to be tough to cover the whole pitch and deal with Dreamy's great passing game and significant mobility advantage. I made him work for it a little, though he had a comfortable amount of time to score and unsurprisingly did, after maybe 3 or 4 turns, evening up the score.

I was still down players, though i think dreamy had lost a wardancer at this point, so all wasn't totally lost. He set up to defend the kick looking very aggressive, and I knew it was going to be a tough sell to keep this at a draw.

The vagaries of blood bowl however, had different ideas. the kickoff event turned out to be the most brutal pitch invasion I have ever seen, stunning 6-7 of dreamy's players and leaving all of mine standing, and leaving only 4 of his up, one of whom was the treeman who immediately would take root!

I was stunned (as I think was Dreamy) at this, and I really didn't know what I wanted to do, and my play kind of went to pot. There was a huge amount of space on the pitch now, and I made the crucial mistake of leaving my ball carrier on his own, just close enough for dreamy to blitz after some nifty dodging (which I should have expected from elves). Sure enough, he knocked the ball loose, and my players were all faffing around in the middle of nowhere. I was on the back foot for the rest of the game, constantly having to blitz the ball loose from Dreamy. The game went too and fro a bit, but dreamy's speed, agility and player advantage stopped the game from ending as a messy 1-1 draw, and he just managed to slot home another td on turn 16.

Great game, and the best player won. I was totally outplayed in the second half, even when given every advantage by a humongous kick off event.

Well played Dreamy. I hope I managed to surprise you by pulling out a TD in the first half (and then, by failing to score in the second, in what was essentially the closest thing to an open goal you're ever likely to see in a BB game :( )

Sturm und Drink faced off against Dancing in the Dark for a swing game of Blood Bowl.

Both teams were convinced they were kicking, but only Dancing were right, something which made Sturm's initial blocking somewhat wishy-washy. Much less so were the Dancing replies, which swiftly led to two Sturmers being carried off the pitch to nurse injuries the rest of the game - one of these was the vaunted Yhetee who thus proved fairly useless for this game.

The Sturm team was swiftly pressed up against the sidelines for a long scrum until they finally managed to knock out or hurt a few elves and open up for the touchdown. Dancing did try for a one-turner, but waffled the attempt horribly.

Second half Dancing has some troubles breaking through the Norse line despite their reduced numbers, but finally manage to do a typical elf "pass and score" routine, loosing their rerolls as well as their experienced Dancer for the rest of the game in the process.

Then the Sturm receive again, and a pitch invasion takes down six out of ten elves. The tree and the two elves on the line of scrimmage, as well as the experienced thrower in the midfield remain up - everyone else is stunned, in contrast to zero stuns for the Sturm.

This open pitch seems to confuse the Sturm, and as they defilade down the pitch to score what seems like a surefire touchdown, their runner is left open for the Dancer LOS to run over and wrestle down (except for the tree that rooted, but managed to help by opening the path needed to reach the runner first)

The thrower then runs up to the ball and just throws it next to the Sturm endzone, and the ball is then passed or ran back or forth until the end of the half when the Dancers finally manage to hold on to it long enough to score the winning touchdown.

Very lively game.

Great report. And as I said - a very swingy game. Much fun.:)
(Both sides had their bad times and their good times)

Also the first time ever I passed to an empty square, but it felt like the right time to try.

3 players level up
Had to buy a replacement Ghoul :(
Probably not as expensive as a Tomb Guardian ;)

So,
anyone heard from Ghostwolf? Already wrote a PM and just wait for his answer; I really would not want this to be bye-week essentially.

I'll try and prod him tonight. He's going to Australia to work for six months on Sunday, but has apparently made arrangements for Waterproofbob to play his games for him. I'll see what's up, but you may want to try pming bob as well.
