This thread is to register you and your team for the much awaited THN blood bowl league 3!
Firstly apologies for its delay, life went mad, but now its fine and we are now able to start taking team registrations for any and all who are interested.
So without further ado, what we want from you is the usual spiel.
A) Your Blood Bowl Login name.
B) Your team Name, Race and Team Value (TV).
Team registrations will run from today till the evening of Sunday the 17th (ish). Read the rules before you register.
Now for the boring bit. ZE RULES.
The Teams
Entry lvl teams
Minimum team points value= 850
Maximum team points value= 1000/1500 (depends on vote results.)
VOTE: As has been hinted registrations MAY become open to teams who have previously participated in leagues 1 + 2. Entry TV will be regulated though to 1500. BUT if the general consesus is for new teams then thats what it has to be.
Reason is simple. The Alpha teams from league 2 who are nearly 2000 TV are a little too much overkill for the start of a new league. In a seasons worht of games someone from a lower league will get promoted and i dont want them facing Killgore exulted doom champion of chaos and his immortal beastmen army. I think thats more than fair. But we dont want the usual grind of fresh team, fresh learning curve and the feeling that all the hard work on a team from last league got you no where.
As this league is semi persistent the option is there if you want it but i will re-iterate if the large majority want to start afresh and there arent enough vet teams for a division then fresh teams will be mandatory.
Dont worry too much about race yet. We'd like a nice even spread but i'm not going to deny teams unless we're facing dorf apocalypse.
The Fixtures
This will be a semi-persistent league with multiple divisions (number of tiers depending on number of players). We are hoping to have short seasons (5 games or so) but have multiple repeating seasons to allow the possibility for promotion or relegation.
What that means in real money is the league will operate much like british football leagues and will have 2/3 separate divisions (pretty much how the first league was for those who remember) and will have players fight only those people in their division. You gain 3 pts for winning, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss.
We want shorter seasons but more of them, if you follow. The reason for this is to allow for promotion and relegation. As you gain more pts you move above other players to the top of your division. If you reach the top of division 2/3 at the end of the season you will be promoted up a league. If you are having a hard luck streak and find yourself at the bottom of league 1/2 you will be relegated to a lower league.
The bonuses to this format are thusly
Games will take place on a once a week basis
Once all teams are entered and everything is a go the league will begin by allocating your week one rival. The allocation is random but you will never fight the same opponent twice in the same season. You then have one week to sit down for an hour at some point with your opponent and fight your heart out. After a week the standings will be updated (usual win=3 points, draw=1 point and loss=0 points) and then your next opponent will be chosen for week 2. At the end of the season there will be a by week to allow any players to make changes if they so require.
If in unfortuate circumstance your opponent is unable to appear or you cant make a match i will have the power to force a draw/forfeit on whomevers behalf. But i'll hope it wont come to that.
In regards to victory and overall crushing domination of your lesser foes we'll hold off on that for now until we've been through at least one season and see how it all plays out.
We will not be using extended enducements.
With the total dev team of BB comprising of one man in a shed at the moment the game is in a fragile state. Last league alot of complications arose due to extended enducements being unpurchasable, unresponsive and generally detracting from game stability. While i feel they are a great laugh and sometimes a field leveller theres no point using them at the expense of the game itself.
The standard turn based game of 16 turns of 4 minutes each will be played under championship rules
Max lvl for characters= 7
Number of Apothecaries allowed= 1 (the number didnt go any higher)
Max Fan Factor= 18
Max number of re-rolls allowed per team= 8
Max number of cheerleaders allowed per team= 10
Kick off events= yes
Star players able to be bought= yes
Training before match= no
Equipment= no
Extra Inducements= no
