I don't know why it's crashing :( I have a fresh install, of both the PC (a week old) and bloodbowl which I only installed two days ago anyway (and again tonight)

Hmm, I've never had that issue before, but I will try that. (It starts windowed, no border)

Windowed mode is the only way I can get it to be anything resembling stable...

Not to be a dick but can I suggest that if Trax can't fix his crashing issue and if it happens again outside of the first turn (assuming not too much has gone horribly in that turn) then the games from this point on aren't reset. I know it's harsh and I'm sure Trax isn't doing this intentionally but it is seriously unfair to the opponent who potentially is taking a hit, this was very much the case in the last league final where Ronin was very gracious.

Obviously it's up to you fine folk and especially those that are in the same league as Trax.

I have no problem with that, but to clarify the furthest we got was today, half way through turn one. I received, set my attack and then as I clicked end turn; bloodbowl.exe has stopped working....

Trax, although you have made a fresh install, have you also removed whatever user data it's got saved in your user folder? Either in My Documents, or possibly in the AppData hidden folder, find anything in relation to blood bowl in those folders and remove them.

So, we finally played our match. Trax killed 2 of my players, and I apoc'd one - but lost a level 2 'dancer with +1 MV. UGH.

As per usual there was an immense display of crazy crap from both sides, and Trax snuck in a 3-2 victory on the final turn. 20/20 match rating, so clearly the fans enjoyed seeing me rage repeatedly as everything fell apart. GG Trax, I'M GLAD WE ACTUALLY PLAYED IT. :p

Bring on the next league, I'm SO sick of elves...

Good game, real balance of might over agility. One player with injuries for me, I think Kas got away without.

1-1 draw, Good Game.

It is my sadness to point out that I go on holiday tomorrow and so will be unavailable for rounds 2 and 3. Annoyingly I don't think division 2 has any bye=weeks so lucky IronFist and BigD who get 2 free passes. Most annoying!

See ya in two weeks!

Good game indeed - lots of botched rolls on both sides, or i think it could've ended up a 2-1 victory to either one of us.

No you didn't.

At the end of the season you can roll a new team and drop to D3 if you want...

Playing with a 1k TV team has lost its appeal for me. It's like playing the tutorial level on an RPG over and over with different characters, but never actually advancing the story and getting to the good gear/weaponry.

I've played every team at 1k level - and if I were to start another, it would just be dwarves every time. It's only around 1200 other teams start coming in to their own - and that's a whole season away in small leagues like this.

Is there a problem with having mine and comrade_phil's game verified?

We completed it on Monday evening and even though games played after ours seem to have been verified, our match hasn't yet been done.

All games verified and only one more left to play this week: Ghostwolf vs Xarlaxas.

Now, for a little commentary:

Storm Heroes, valiant losers of last season's THN Bowl, line up against a previous adversary, Necromantics. Both teams have had to trim their rosters to qualify for this league and, in the Heroes' case, this has meant that they entered the first match a player down as their quarterback, James Darrell Edwards, is out with a back injury. However, as per league rules, a journeyman linesman was provided for the duration of the match.

Kick off went to Necromantics and they gathered their strength on the right flank with the ball in the clutches of a devious werewolf. The lines crashed together and quickly a man was down on either side. Dwayne Hicks, Blitzer for the Heroes, got a hand to the ball carrier only to see the ball slip forward to a ghoul before he could take it away.

Still the lines tussled, neither one quite getting the advantage they needed to make progress, 'til a small hole opened up towards the centre of the and the ghoul nimbly dodged through with werewolves and wights forming a pocket around the carrier. The Heroes' line followed closely, though, and managed to keep the ball out of the end zone, leading to a 0-0 tie at half time.

Pleased at shutting down Necromantic's drive, the Heroes went into the second half hopeful but undermanned: 10 men for Necromantics, but 9 for the Heroes. Fortunately, Dutch made an impression in the D-line and a zombie was turfed off the pitch quite quickly. However, this luck didn't hold. Taking advantage of the fact that the undead do not tire, the D-line overwhelmed the Heroes with some key knock-outs and stuns and with only a quarter of the match remaining they put a wight over the score line to take the lead 1-0.

Both teams lined up again, with Heroes receiving, only 9 players either way this time. The Heroes knew they needed to make a big play and Necromantics smelt blood and pushed for the kill; a wight and a ghoul broke past the Heroes' O-line and rushed into the backfield looking for the reserve quarterback, Jimmy Dix. With the undead pressing hard for the sack, they didn't have the manpower to stop John McClane from breaking through the line and Jimmy Dix pressing upfield between the oncoming defenders to throw a long pass perfectly into McClane's hands. The crowd went wild, but it wasn't over yet!

Necromantics raced to intercept the Heroes' blitzer and a werewolf successfully knocked McClane to the floor, picking up the ball a moment later and pulling it back to almost the halfway line. Unperturbed, Dutch lead a violent assault, knocking the ball free once more and sending the werewolf flying. Another couple of key blocks and nimble escapes left John McClane on his feet downfield and the ball free on the ground, but only Jimmy Dix could get there. Thing is, Dix was tangled between a wight and a werewolf, with the wight and his own O-line between him and the ball...

He ducked, weaved, scrambled and dived past the wight, evading two tackles and picking up the ball beautifully. Another long pass pitched overhead, with only a zombie with a chance to intercept, which it had no chance at. For a moment, it looked like McClane might fumble the ball but he pulled it in and burned into the endzone with just seconds to go before the final whistle.

While the Heroes kicked to Necromantics once more, the whistle blew on a 1-1 draw that could only be described as epic.
