Not for a couple of months I would think. Since everyone would do it to get realm first of <race> <class> combo

But maybe later in? Cos it would be annoying if you gotta pay (atleast for me cos im not allowed for parrents) so whole everyone get this i can just sit and watch...

You're talking about a FREE race change? Um... what? If you want to change the race of an existing character, you have to pay. There's no free element, and they're not going to give it to you for free just because there's new races and race/class combos...

Also, anyone looking to change the race on their existing characters to something new; it's a bit vague, but there was something about racechanging to a new race/class combo for one of the existing ten races being okay, but there being a delay on changing to Goblin or Worgen (to do with the realm first achievements or something). Could be wrong, but like I said... the blue poster was vague as all hell.

Time Warp (level 83): Grants a passive Haste effect much like Bloodlust or Heroism to party or raid members. It also temporarily increases the mage's own movement speed. Time Warp will be exclusive with Bloodlust and Heroism, meaning you can’t benefit from both if you’ve got the Exhaustion debuff, though the movement-speed increase will still work even when under the effects of Exhaustion.

Interesting. I'll be useful in a raid. :3 (inb4 'you're never useful in a raid' etc)

Wall of Fog (level 85): Creates a line of frost in front of the mage, 30 yards from end to end. Enemies who cross the line are snared and take damage. The mana cost will be designed to make Wall of Fog efficient against groups, not individuals. This spell is intended to give mages a way to help control the battlefield, whether the mage is damaging incoming enemies (Blizzard can be channeled on top of Wall of Fog) or protecting a flag in a Battleground. 10-second duration. 30-second cooldown.

Kiting much? Or am I missing something? o_O

Some of the new talents are looking good. They're re-balancing the arcane missiles talents etc. I'm happy. XD Haven't looked at much other stuff yet.

Another example, so if i want to change a belf pala to tauren pala its posible?
But not (example) change orc shamy to troll / tauren, or like another not new class / race combo?

I think im right in saying:

Any race change for races and class combinations that existed before cata will be cost you whatever Blizz currently charges for it, and can be done at any time before or after the expansion.

e.g Belf Warlock -----> Orc Warlock

However, a race change to a new race or new race/class combination will be locked after the expansion comes out for whatever time Blizz thinks long enough, probably a couple of months to block people exploiting it for 'Realm First to 85' achievements.

e.g Belf Paladin ----> Tauren Paladin
or
Undead Mage ----> Goblin Mage.

Hope thats a little clearer.

First off, Graf, to make sure there's no confusion; there does not exist, nor will their ever exist, a free race change in this game. Not ever ever ever.

Secondly; you can use the PAID race change service to change a character to any other race, provided that race can support you class. If it's one of the new race/class combos, then it'll be fine. There's a good chance that you won't INITIALLY be able to race-change to Goblin/Worgen, at least until somebody on the realm has managed to claim the Realm First to 85 for that race or some such.

Don't hold me to that last bit, the but rest is all true, and I can't really say it any more simply.

Honestly, what on earth made you think you'd EVER be able to get a race change for free? :S

What he said.

Like most other companies: Blizzard is a money whoring supercompany, who will squeeze every bit of money they can out of you.

Blizzard themselves used to be better than that. Yes, they obviously wanted profit, any company does, but the only way that really showed was the nigh-zealotry with which they'd occaisonally do purges of non-authentic Warcraft 1/2/3 / Starcraft CD keys from battle.net and their making people stop rebuilding Starcraft on Warcraft 3/C&C Generals/other RTS games.

Then Activision came along, and the rest is history... seriously, look at when things started going downhill, it was during BC, around the time of the first rumours of a Blizzard-Activision partnership (and the first major fallout, as I see it, was the huge length of time after Sunwell's release where NOTHING HAPPENED... ).

May sound a tad biased, but I can't believe for a second it's coincidental; Blizzard used to be considered on of the few "good" games companies (THQ and a small number of others being the rest)...

Well i was hopening for a short period aftet catas release cos of new race/class combos..

They didn't do it after BC or Wrath release, nor would it make any sense for them to put such massively unecessary strain on their databases and servers to handle the inevitable flurry of changes that would occur in such a scenario, unless they were getting a nice pile of cash for it. And even then, they'd likely wait until the initial strain of an expansion launch had gone away.

Btw.

Was there any need to sign up anywhere to get in? Or is having beta setting in battle.net sufficient.

You opt in on your battle.net account page. Then, if you get an invite, it'll be sitting there in the battle.net page as a seperate game entry, waiting to be used. If you get sent an email claiming to have a beta key for you to use and links to follow and suchlike, it is a fake, they no longer use that system. In general, be REALLY mindful of all supposedly Blizzard-related emails, 99% of them are scams, especially now with the beta rolling.
