and on that note, how exactly does a grenade get inside a potato if it isnt "put there" by someone, would a potato even grow around such a thing?..i wouldnt have thought so, sounds kinda fishy to me, you dont find rocks and stones inside your potatoes and i bet theres plenty of those in the ground too

The hand grenade probably wasnt found 'inside' a potato. Instead, the potato harvester (a machine like a combine harvester) probably picked it up thinking that it was a potato itself.

LOL - they grow under ground and when collected for sale they are just dragged up by as said above a huge "combine harvest" type machine. chucked in a box and shipped. Just make me laugh! So from now on terrorists will be shipping grenades in said box of potatoes lol - crazy customs must always be sleeping I swear! I in all my travleing life have never seen a custom's official!
