Cod6: MW2 Steam or Shop

Eurogamer have reported on this too. Looking at the quotes, it almost smells like there's a marketing guy who has the wrong end of the stick. However, I also sense that they're trying to focus on the console market as it probably has more money in it over the next two years considering recession is likely to hurt PC upgrades which will, in turn, hurt their ability to sell a new high performance game on the PC.

That article u refer to Ronin, this quote from it made me laugh..

"He(IW Rep) did, though, say that patches could follow the release of the game according to feedback from the PC community. (Yeah. Er, probably do expect some feedback.)"

So the MW2 webchat happened last night.

Asking about dedi servers got you kicked.

The maximum game size for ALL versions of the game is 9v9.

You cannot lean in the PC version.

No recording features.

PC game is not yet finished.

On being asked if the PC version is a console port, the response was "no it has extra stuff like mouse input, text chat and graphical settings".

In other words, we have a shitty PC port.

The matchmaking service will pit you against the other people, pick the best person to host (i.e. it's hosted on YOUR OWN connection) and then you will play.

If the host leaves then "usually" it should be seamlessly changed to someone else.

IW aren't getting a single penny out of me for this.

Yeah, I was concerned when I heard about the lack of dedicated servers, but the results of this webchat has left me without a doubt uninterested in purchasing MW2. A shame as I really enjoyed CoD4. . . .

Oh boy. I was prepared to stick for IW, I can see the advantages of all the quick matching stuff if done properly. But they just seem determined to kill the PC game now. Trying to make a cheap buck, shame

Heh, and people thought Treyarch did a bad job.

We can only hope that they have either been trolling the whole world the past months, and actually have all the features they say are cut in the final game, or that they see the light before release and put them back in. If neither of these things happen, I most certainly won't buy MW2 (Not to say I won't play it, hah!).
