elD, agreed. Generals, although taking a slating from the community for no apparent reason, was an extremely fun game (at least for me it was). I just cant understand why it was never accepted.

It was OK when it was new, that's all I can say.

I personaly find the fact they had the nerve to call it a C&C game is beyond logic.

Psi why do you have to be so blunt about your views? You could take a little consideration at how people read your posts before you make them.

I might have said the same thing about Red Alert at first, the GDI vs. Nod campaign was always the more attractive for me. However, after I realised that Westwood/EA were trying to diversify the CnC franchise as a whole, and succeeded, I became more acceptive of the spin-offs. Personally, I think Generals, Renegade etc. just try and open up the franchise to new players. Needless to say, I love em' all.

I'd have to agree with you there, about Nod/GDI being more attractive the the "old school" / "hardcore" C&C fan. I find that it all was starting to go down hill, quality wise, from RA2's expansion Yuri's revenge. The previous C&C's had been based on things that the developers knew were on the minds of the public, future warfare, end of the planet, cold war (RA2) etc. , And than Yuri... No real explanation for why they made it. As for renegade, well let's just say that, when A RTS making team attempts a FPS, it rarely ever goes well.

[mod]We're wandering off topic, but there isn't a good split-point (HotStuff's post is a bridge and belongs in both...), so if you're wanting to carry on the discussion on C&C games can you fire up a new thread please? Thanks.[/mod]

@ Ronin, I hope you realise by having that in your avatar people may and most likely will associate you with Nazism...

Correct me if I'm wrong but that is an image of a German officers uniform during the second world war, it does not show any swastikas, or anything to do with Nazism or the SS.

To very briefly respond to the comment:

The picture is one of a WWII German Infantry officer's uniform. It's probably got as much relation to Nazism as as any WWII game you care to mention.

[mod]Of course, such comments were much more appropriate for a PM and they are way off topic for this thread. Please stay on topic.[/mod]
