Consoles vs. PCs, the Old Firm returns

However, I stand by my opinion that if I had to obliterate one system off the planet, PC would be going :)

Why? I really don't understand why. The PC is win. Anything your console can do, my PC can do better.

Because, put simply, I've had more fun in my lifetime playing console games than I've ever had playing PC games. What I don't understand is why you feel hell bent on making me think otherwise ... ?

I think BioShock is a good example, same game released on PC and Xbox 360 - most THN users with a 360 and a PC bought it for the 360, and a lot of people that bought for PC have had problems with it. Not only that, but it's a brilliant game and has every chance of taking the Game of the Year award that Gears of War on 360 took last year. Looks to me like the console is fighting it's corner very effectively.

Here's a dodgy analogy - There are two guys. One has a Ferrari F430 Spider, the other has, say, a 1969 Ford Mustang. The Ferrari is faster, more responsive, more comfortable, more beautiful and ultimately better at doing it's job. The Mustang is old, unreliable, not terribly fast and guzzles way too much fuel to be practical. Would the guy with the Mustang trade his car for the other man's Ferrari? No he wouldn't, because of personal preference, his style of driving and because of the good times he has had driving that car. I'm the same with consoles (of course, this really isn't an admission that consoles are inferior).

And no offence, Taffy :D I meant gaming PC, I guess. The internet is still useful, and you can browse the internet with ease on a PC decades old, but the gulf in price between gaming PC and 'utility' PC is massive.

I've had way more fun playing PC games than consoles, so I'm hurt when you say you want PC games to be destroyed. Spoken like a true PC geek! :p

Oh well, each to his own.
