I for one welcome the opportunity to be able to buy high quality maps, extra guns and vehicles, and new player models. I'm not being forced into this decision I want to get it.
The only thing that 'forces' you to buy this Wraith is the fact that you will want to play with your mates online, who will have the patch.

Likewise if I was to play on a server and got a message popping up saying something along the lines of "Your connection to the server has been lost due to incompatible content, click here to download Euro Force Booster Pack for £5", I'd be likely to get irritated.

On the other hand, i'll be downloading it, it'll bring a lot moree interest into a game that has become (slightly) repetitive of late. I don't see the problem. £5 isn't a huge amount of money really, is it. In fact, i'll be blowing a whole weeks wages on the pack, but meh, i'm only a school kid who doesn't have a job.

Surely it could be argued that we've paid for the game code, e.g the physics and weapons etc. Which can be played as singleplayer.
What has been provided for "free" is the means to play online, eg. EA UK server's etc.
Therefore I think that we've only got a legal standpoint, if we have to pay to continue playing offline, I'd expect in that T+C we all skipped through there's a clause saying something like "online content is subject to change without prior notice"
Even then, I'm pretty sure there's even a warning that pops up on login along the lines of "Online content may differ"
So in other words, we can't complain about them changing how they operate the server's we play on, as technically it's a free service which we didn't pay for.
