Read it all through now.

I will hold judgement on the new talent system, though it looks to me to be dumbed down even more.

Pet metagame = not interested. Guess it's more aimed at the kiddies.

Hunter class, now even easier to play! Gotta laugh. No min range, no melee weapon. Sigh. I suppose the latter is the final solution to stop them needrolling on everything.

I personally like the pandaren. I bet the females will be fugly though.

LOL @ giant turtle. Is that a homage to discworld or something?

I like the sound of the PvE scenarios. I hope that there will be 2-man ones though, or that you can attempt 3 player ones with 2 people.

And as said before, bitterly dissapointed that there's no housing. I guess there never will be. I would have played wow a lot longer if I had a house to furnish and shinies to find ala EQ2.

And so continues the slow death of WoW. Making it usable by children and turning the adult, subscribing players away with b/s Pandas, pokemon battle pets and a class system Mickey Mouse could devise. Someone at blizzard has a long overdue slap waiting.

No min range for hunters is actually a nice thing to do. So now the hunter can stay with the rest of the ranged group inside a healing circle!

No more hunter over in the back corner on fights like Magmaw ;D

I do not get why people are raging about this pokemon battle pet thing.
Yeah its silly and a waste of ones time.
Instead of downloading bejewled addon and playing that while standing idle in Orgrimmar now you can waste your time by doing this silly pokemon thing with some other dude...

That said, its not like im going to play lots and lots of this pokemon game.
I like flying laps around Garroshes bachelor pad in Orgrimmar... that is my thing :p

The only thing I have against it is that imo they've "wasted" dev/design skills putting this into the game when it's got a gaping hole, like I said, housing.

Another thing that's always been missing is woodwork. Bows, staves, etc. And woodworkers would craft furniture too, you know, if we had houses.

The housing in EQ2 was entertaining. You collected lots of stuff from quests which could be used to decorate, and you could craft stuff too. You could place stuff practically anywhere in your house, at any rotation, and items could stack on each other.

If you get bored you should try it sometime; everquest 2 extended is completely free.

You got a valid point here. But for some reason Blizz decided that puting time and energy into pokemon battle system is better.
I must say that housing is a more interesting thing to me than some pet battle thing..

I think the main issue with housing would be its anti-social nature. Although I'm sure you could claim housing increases socialising, because you go see what each other has made etc, I'd see that as a relatively short term "new shiny" thing. Give it a year and people would just end up AFKing in their houses instead of a capital city.
Blizz seems to be doing everything they can to push people back out into the world, instead of being stuck in a capital city at level cap. First there was archaeology, which worked pretty well at giving people a chance to see all the world changes without making them level another alt. The next patch is going to see people venturing forth from [strike]Pallet Town[/strike] Orgrimmar in order to catch more [strike]Pokémon[/strike] mini pets -which could work.
I think they'd shy away from housing, purely because people would AFK more in their own space, and WoW is already enough of a "MEMEME" game as is.

Having said that... introduce the materials needed for crafting the house parts/furniture out into the game world and you (at least temporarily) solve the problem of everyone staying indoors alone.

Alternatively, to increase solialisation particularly with guilds, they could also have a function to ahve Guild Halls the same way players have personal houses, to allow guild members to congregate and socialise away from crowds or only seeing face to face during raids (rather than just the occasional chat on /guild).

Also, gettign rid of the AFKers from overcrowding the cities by placing them in instance-style housing... I can't see where the argument against that lies...

I like the idea of Guild Halls, I play other MMO's which have done a similiar thing, where guilds work to better their halls over time. I'm waiting for somebody to call me on the game here btw.

As for the instance-styled housing, surely the amount of shard worlds would require a huge use of resources?
