At i33 the Frag Dolls are making a Guinness World Record attempt for "the longest continuous play of an FPS". The Dolls will be there in conjunction with Ubisoft and Xbox 360®, Guinness World Records will be there - where will you be?Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is the game the record will be set on, the latest title in the highly acclaimed R6 series. Released on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft® only a day before the event (20th March), the Frag Dolls will have plenty of time to get accustomed to the game as they pace themselves for a solid 24 hours of good, clean terrorist slaughter
Starting at 10am on Saturday 22nd, the Frag Dolls will play for as long as they can on the Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network - if you're at i33 or even at home, you can be a part of the record attempt by challenging them to a game. If successful the record will be going into the Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition 2009.
Ubisoft are also showcasing R6: Vegas 2 at i33, bringing along a further eight Xbox 360 consoles and giving you the chance to sample what's set to be one of the most popular titles of the year so far. Come along and play anytime during i33, and speak to the guys from Ubisoft in person about R6: Vegas 2. Oh and bring caffeine - the Frag Dolls are probably going to need it!

This will be the entire weekend I presume, they're going to be a display :p

Oh and EA are giving away another Isotope PC ( Like the Crysis one at I32, this ones Hellgate London )
the top prize this time round is a top of the range Intel Quad Core gaming PC with 4GB RAM and dual XFX 768MB 8800GTX all inside a special Hellgate: London branded case. This is courtesy of EA who also provided the Crysis PC of the same spec which was our first prize at i32.

Sadly, it won't work. The sleeping pills really aren't going to do much if you're sitting up playing games. (Unless you opt for something stronger, and likely more illegal ;))

I still have some fairly powerful sleep piles as I get mild insomnia vaguelly regularly so a mix of that and proplus would probably kill you.

I think you lot should break their attempt with a 25 hour go of CoD4 or BF2 or something :D Might not be official, but you can laugh at them for doing POINTLESS SHOWBOATING. That is all.

indeed i have done a straight 18hour stint at a previous lan party before so upping it to 25 shouldn't be too difficult especially with pro plus

It's all about the Jolt. A 25 hour stint could be a laugh as well. I've done 16hrs of CSS in the past and that was great, by the end we all sucked and were half asleep.

You all put me to shame! I think the most I could be bothered with was about 10 hours on Final Fantasy X with my brother, trying to level up at Zanarkand :D Good fun, helped me beat a few of the dark aeons.

Ahey, :)

I've done 16hrs of CSS in the past and that was great, by the end we all sucked and were half asleep.

Back in my college days, when text-based MUSHing was still the thing, I played 25 hours straight of Elendor. And by straight, I mean, I worked on my final project for five hours, then played for 25, then finally had to take a small break to go pee, cuz I really couldn't hold it any more, then actually played for one more hour! :)

Good fun! :)

Cheers,
J.

Ah, you see, such problems like relieving yourself while gaming can be resolved in one of two ways:

 1. You just don't care.
 2. You take a laptop into the bathroom.
To be fair, to consider either option you'd have to be pretty determined to be record-beating!

My own record for continued game playing is about 13 hours, was playing Half-Life Deathmatch against bots at a friends house overnight... I am the king of Undertow and Subtransit... (at least at 3am :D)
