Hardware question.

I was wondering if something has ever heard of or better yet, could point me to something like this. I'm wondering if there is something that plugs in to the headphone jack socket that splits it into two and has some sort of switch on it to switch between the two things. Like to switch easily between speakers and a headset.

tbh matey not i've never seen anything cheap that can do that, but provided u have a spare PCI slot what u could do is get urself one of these
cheapo sound cards then just have ur speakers into onboard and have headset and mic into other sound card and software switch between them. This is essentially how mines setup except both my headset and speakers are 5.1.

If someone knows a cheaper easier way to do then I'm all ears but for less than £10 your gonna be hard pushed.

It's fairly simple to DIY if you can handle a soldering iron.

I'm currently soldering myself a headphone amplifier.
