[i37] Food Plan

Regarding food we canhave a more detailed convo at some point regarding logistics. At all my previous events I've sort of taken control of cooking on le bbq according to Vibs. This may not be possible if we can't bring BBQs. I'm going to bake another cake or 2 as the cake last time was a reasonable success, well for those that liked it anyway.

What are peoples general feelings, do we want organised food. Do we want to wing it or do we all want to get very ill eating rustlers filth.

YESSSSS! I ate Bob's chocolate beer cake and I... jizzed in my pants. True story.
I'm fine bundling into a fund with the rest of you chaps if that's what you want to do; last year we had 2 cars, this year I think we only have one (amongst the lads I'm coming up with) so might be a bit awkward getting all the stuff in.

I think arriving and everyone going to Tesco's and buying the cheapest food they can buy as worked out well for the past 2 events. :)

And the cheapest vodka for that matter. I think I'll bring a couple of bottles of my own down this time, and a couple of other assorted spirits.

rememebr you won't be able to take said beverages into the main gaming hall.

Stoneleigh is a licensed premises and they will have a bar there (that isn't too expensive) but that means that alcohol that you do not buy on teh premises cannot be consumed in teh gaming hall.

You can, however, drink your own alcohol in the campsite

I'll be bringing my own Whiskey over.

Also that was always the way. You just had to smuggle the alcohol in. Have they tightened security?

Aye, it never stopped us in the past. There are easy ways round it, of course ... but it would be shameful to ruin it for everyone else by acting in an irresponsible fashion. I guess there's nothing wrong with getting a bit of pre-booze on the go before going into the hall.

I don't want to drink it just to get drunk, though. I'd like to be playing some Civ with a glass of whiskey watching my actions get stupider and stupider... :D

bags will be searched, however if you happen to have no window in your case and happen to secure alcohol in there, as long as you keep the bottle hidden then you should be fine

though i have to say the bar prices are actually reasonable for draught, plus there is proper cider on tap :D

I can be a bit difficult on food. A lack of fruit and vegetables will make me ill over time, plus a lack of clean water (read: bottled water I chose) will make me ill extremely quickly.

So, I'll be doing a bit of mix-and-match on food. I'll have my car with me and anticipate making semi-regular trips to pick stuff up. Certainly, the whole Rustlers thing is unlikely to work for me more than once, if that...

I'm still working on a plan for myself but don't completely count me out from arrangements; just understand I'm a bit more tricky/fussy.

We take with us bottled water, that's all I drink for the entire event.

For food, it's a case of 4 days of Pizza, Chinese, Pizza, and what ever the restraunt is serving, which was a roast chicken on the Sunday?

For me, I'll be living off of caffeine and Guinness (provided I can keep it cold) as that's all I drink here at uni anyways, and I can't stay awake without my caffeine

In terms of food I'm not fussy at all, if Rustlers is entirely free all weekend I could live off of Ribwiches and be a happy, happy man.

Strollers food at i36 was not actually too bad, and although it may have looked bad, it actually wasn't.

Reasonably priced at £5 for a meal, too. I had Steak and Ale pie with chips and peas and it was quite nice.

IIRC there is a Tesco and a Sainsbury's within 10 mins drive of the place, however for breakfast the FARM SHOP breakfast roll is teh awesome. £3 for a roll with bacon, egg, sausage and black pudding :D:D:D:D

Regarding security, it is MUCH tighter this time around, and by that I mean to the point where they may be considered by some people to be a little heavy-handed, but I would rather that than stuff go missing :)

Bags WILL be searched on entry and exit, and AFAIK if you had any bottles that were not sealed then you had to demonstrate that they did not contain alcohol on entry.

A couple of slip-up by people regarding equipment getting out of the premises at i36 were very well caught and dealt with by the security, so I have no problems with em. Plus if that rather large Asian dude with tattoos shows up again you will NOT want to mess with them AT ALL. (Take the typical sized doorman that you see on club entraces. Now give him arms and legs that are 3x the diameter of that, and covered in tattoos, and you are getting close to the size of this guy).

tbh I'm more than happy to get in with Ronin on that fruit/veg attack. I get all a bit meated out over the weekend and tend to get back and make a big salad. I hate rustlers so unless it is free I'm not getting any of that. I personally enjoy taking the bbq and getting bacon sarnie on in the morning.

Drinks wise I like to bring lots of bottled water and supplement that with mountain dew. We do I believe have a reasonable amount of cars with us so getting to tesco to do a shop shouldn't be too much of an issue.

I've not heard from Danie in a fair while so I'm assuming he won't be there avec his van, also by his msn name he has himself a baby so best to keep that away from Nanor.
