So for reasons I'm not going to go into, we now have a space in our clanbox for a 22nd person as Chrononaut has had to cancel.

So to cut a long story short... anyone interested? Or any current attendees know someone that would like to come?

I *think* Wol said he had a friend that might be interested in attending, so if that's the case I'll give Wol's friend priority on taking the clanbox space, but don't let that stop you from trying to convince others to attend too :)

Presumably, if we don't actually get our 22nd person we can all chip in [post=87731]as per my previous post on the subject[/post], then a mere £3.43 per person can hold that seat...?

my mate is being a bit of a girl and isn't going to be coming. because hes a girl / "cba"

.... girly

splitting the cost of one ticket between 21 of us isnt too bad though. Maybe someone can bring a console and big TV or something to have in the corner?

Ooooh, this is true, if we still have all the power allowance which goes with the seat could we not use it for a fridge or some such? Definitely willing to pay the little extra for that!

We will not be allowed a fridge in the clanbox - we've asked about this a few times and unfortunately it can't happen.

To cool stuff we'll have to get a couple of cool boxes in and then head down to sainsburys (round the corner) and slap a load of ice in em

I'll be travelling back and forth each day. I'll bring a coolbox with as many ice blocks as I own (around 8 or so) each day and refreeze each night but we'll probably want more than that.

Surely a fridge draws less energy than a PC? I can see them saying no fridges in addition to our PCs, but when it's a seat specifically booked to power a desktop PC and monitor, they can't really complain about the power consumption of a small fridge - they're like 200W...

It'll not be power consumption that'll be the problem. It'll be insurance against fire. Just like you aren't allowed a kettle either.

Ah touché. Still, surely a PC is more likely to set on fire than a fridge? Once again seems a little strange to me.

Oh quite possibly, but that's not how insurance works. They'll (Multiplay, that is) probably be insured against an electrical fire caused by computer hardware but I expect they'll not be insured against non-computer hardware fires as that'll cost more and it's easy enough for them to say "no fridges/kettles/microwaves/etc".

Under insurance grounds, do we need to have all equipment PAT tested then?

So what to do with the spare desk? Rock band? :p

we have plenty of time to sort things out :)

The fridge thing is to do with power - the only things you should be plugging into the power network provided is your PC, Monitor and any powered peripherals you may have

awww that sucks about power. Although I dont by the power reason as a fridge will use half the power that my pc along consumes. However, I think its more related to the tuck shop and making their money from cold drinks.

anyways it looks like fridge is out. how about a TV =) maybe a 32" / 37" and an xbox and ps3 (making sure only one is plugged in at a time)

I might have the space to bring this along as I may be going in a 4x4 truck thing =)
