Are there any other pubs around newbury which will do a carvery on a sunday, that isnt a toby carvery? As far as the reports I've heard, the toby carvery is a bit ... average, and nothing that special.
If we're all travelling to newbury, theres no point in going somewhere where we could get exactly the same quality food closer to home! may as well go somewhere a bit more special IMO.

Personally, I think we are going a long way to spend time with freinds, not for uber food. Just what I think tbh.

I'm fairly sure that there will be other pubs in newbury at a similar distance thatll do better food thats all.

I've always found Toby Carveries to be pretty good, personally. I obviously have no idea of this particular one, but if there's a pub type alternative nearby, that could also work.
The main advantages I can see of going to a "chain" as opposed to an individual pub type place: more space and seating for all of us (assuming all 22 are interested); they will be used to catering for large amounts of people, so we can all eat at the same time, with no massive waits for food to be cooked; it will likely be overall cheaper, making the bill easier to sort out individually, and well, I'm cheap
That said, if we can find a large pub in the area, I don't object to going somewhere else.
